British Recoiling Championships 24Th March, 2013
zini replied to davyt63's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Thats very disappointing then if the club cant put on a .22 recoiling class for the .22 lad's wanting to attend. Lea Valley managed it last year. Ive moved house now and not driving almost 3 hours to the event to shoot a calibre im not 100% familiar with at the level the comp is at. I wanted to have time to practice with my .177 Pro Sport before the start of the new HFT season as ill be using .177 in that comp all the way through instead of .22. I think ill give the UK springer comp a miss this year then mate and go and shoot in the final shoot of the Southern Hunters Series with D -

You never know Adam as Tony as already received emails from people asking about them. He is doing a run of 30 of them to start with, each one will be serial numbered. Me and Davy have no 1 and 2 so there may be another 28 soon, who knows. Si.

No mate, It was bamboo that we used to decoy most of the woodys in our 3 or 4 pigeon shooting clips. Just use thin poles and make sure the decoy sits on a branch facing its head into the wind. Pigeons dont like to sit with the wind up their bottoms so face into the wind. Si

Thanks mate .

LOL. You wont go wrong with a Stage 2 tuned HW97KT from Tony Wall mate. Davy as already got his in getting tuned to stage 2 now with Tony. Once there tuned and they have shot about 400 to 500 pellets through their barrels they will smooth right out and hit bulls eye after bulls eye with ease. You just have to keep a eye on their power mate as when they smooth out they become so efficient the power can sore and they may need taking down slightly. Mine went right up to 14 FPE at one stage but shot better than my Pro Sport does now. Its now doing 11.5 FPE with H and N and is smoot

Come to the UK springer championships Elliott and go around with me and Adam, we could have a right crack. You can try it then if you want as ill bring it along. I would use it myself but i really want to see what this Spectre can do in competition as i have a good feeling it will do very well after using it the last few times. Si.

The Spectre is now starting to smooth out lovely Aaron and shoots like a dream at 10.9 FPE, very accurate and very quiet for a springer, but i still think the HW97KT would have the edge on it at the moment mate as that's shot thousands of pellets through its barrel and now its super smooth after Tony re tuned it last weekend for me, getting the power just right. The 97 almost shoots itself its that smooth and easy to use now. Id be happy to put it up against my .22 HW100KT knowing it would keep up with ease. I think the weight of the 97 helps where the Spectre is very un forgiving to s

I went out for a few hours today to check zero / fine adjust the .22 VHTV Spectre and .177 Pro Sport and then do a bit of static hunting. After getting all the info i wanted out to 55 yards for both rifles i went and shot another 5 shot group with the Spectre on a piece of plastic at 55 yards that was covered by a 5p . It seems to love H and N now its doing a consistent 10.9 FPE. Happy with that i went and shot these 2 beauties within a half hour. The first one was at 20 meters and the second one was just at 10 meters. Hopefully me and Davy will have the full review out of

What you shooting in the recoiling championships Gasman1? Do you know whether there will be a .22 class in the HFT group like last year? Will be nice to meet up with you. Si. -

zini replied to davyt63's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Mawders if you and Milo fancy a day out with your rifles then id be happy to drive you both up with me. Im not sure if there will be a separate .22 class this year like last year. If its all 1 class a .22 shooter will stand very little chance unless he or she shoots really well to come in the rankings. Regarding the shooting we could go around as a group and just enjoy the day with no pressure. Si. -

Where in the country exactly is it Adam? -
Nice shooting mate. Just goes to what can be achieved with a quality tuned springer and practice. I cant really see a pcp doing that any easier to tell you the truth. It's obvious your a talented shot aswell which always helps. Si.

.177 Cometa .50 Air Gun
zini replied to Tobyy1234567's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I haven't owned that model mate but did own a Cometa 300 which shot at 11 plus FPE. The only let down was the heavy trigger pull but once mastered shot accurate to 40 yards. I would sooner shoot a Cometa than the Gamo I shot a few months ago I can tell you. Best of luck with your model mate. If its just doing 6 to 7 FPE then rats, ferals and rabbits to 20 yards I would say is enough to ask of the rifle mate. Si. -
Why a ox spring mate? There are many better springs out there on the market than that. Have you heard they make your rifle powerful? It would probably make your rifle illegal and over 12 FPE but also very inconsistent with masses of recall making hitting anything accurately pretty much impossible. The trigger on most Chinese rifles are sub standard at best mate so you would be better fitting a decent spring that shot the rifle at between 10.5 and 11 FPE with some consistency and less harsh recoil. You can kill all UK vermin with 10.5 FPE at 55 yards if the pellet is put in the
