  3. Personally I've no axe to grind with anyone and this is just my opinion!! I've always been into Terriers and German Shorthaired Pointers, had an inclination for a Lurcher don't think I'll bother now! especially when you see lads who i've always seen as having a great deal of integrity and the respect of others, being shat on by what seems to be sore losers??? Tom
  4. Chirk Show Sunday 9th of May 2010 is the Welsh qualifier for the International Five Nations Terrier Championship being held at Birr Castle ROI 29th August 2010 The owner! of the best working terrier at Chirk gets a free trip to Ireland to compete, and can take three mates their dogs, car or van details to be finalised Tom

  6. Rabbits have never been classed as game and taking them on a Sunday is not illegal either, as long as you have permission and take them by legal means. Being charged for taking rabbits and reffering to them as game is unlikely to succeed the charge would be regarded as incompetent and unlawfull after all you can't be prosecuted on a traffic offence if your driving a Hond Civiccar and its described as a motor cycle when it comes to court!! Tom
  7. No such thing as overkill if your doing a job of work ie: pest control! big bags are fine if your into the numbers game, I'm not! some circumstance's its about controlling no's not eradication why decimate the rabbits on your permission and then have to go further afield for your sport That should apply wether you use gun, ferret, dog or hawk! breeding seasons, eg Rabbits!! especially if their being a specific pest on crops etc, should still always be controlled even during the summer months if the landowner requests it? Tom
  8. Not if you have permission and have the full co-operation of the railways! My father was a railway employee for over 50 years I was raised in tied railway cottages throughout most of my childhood and up until my early 20's I still have permission on some of the live railway network and other railway properties, but there are strict guidelines and procedures in place mainly relating to health and safety!! eg: obviously you can't have dog's running loose on a busy main branch line Tom
  9. No Dogs, Guns, Ferrets, netmakers, birds of prey, etc; mostly tradestands and no attractions!! someone made the comment more time was taken up walking from the car park to the event rather than walking round the event? unfortunately they were correct

  13. Its a wee bit ambiguous this one?? there was a show last year and the SGA were not involved!! This show is mainly about angling and earlier information suggested that there was a main organiser who are a company that run's mainly angling and woodwork show's!! http://www.nelton.co.uk/scottish-game-and-angling.html There's no Lurcher or Terrier show, no Gundogs no ferrets, no netmakers etc: I have the programme here in front of me!! and I'll be attending the two days on business and as a member of the SGA, It still deserve's support and interest? Its interesting to note that this e

  18. Its a fallacy to suggest there's no trespass laws in Scotland there is , just some of the trespass offence's in Scotland that come to mind!! armed trespass, tresspass in the pursuit of game, trespass with criminal damage, trespass with intent (harder to prove) He is right to ask that you keep dog on a lead especially if he has livestock? If he asks you to walk round the outside of fields it might be that he has growing crops? and does'nt want them damaged (grass is a crop (silage) As for his cow's are out on the road? and cause an accident or loss he is responsible and can be su
