  1. Cheers mate. These tablets are 250 mg and in that link it says to give 10 mg per pound of the dogs body weight or 20 mg per kilogram of dogs body weight every 12 hours orally for dogs. Thanks for the advice.
  2. At least you've got some progeny out of him ey mate. I hope they turn out for you mate. Some belting looking dogs you've got there mate.
  3. How are ya SP.W, the pup is mental and full of energy. I've had him ratting and he's been bang on, the first time we took him it was like he had done it a million times before. Hopefully he'll have the arsehole to back up his attitude when its his turn to get stuck in when there's something bigger than a rat biting him back. That's some pup for just over 6 months man, That black dog looks a tasty sort as well.
  4. That's a shame, he looked a strong old boy and was dug too right up until his final days! Fair play to him, and fair play to you Liam for giving the dog a life time of doing what all real working terriers love doing! RIP.
  5. That is a must, don't give up on the training if you do then you're going to be stuck with a dog that wont do as it is told. Keep it up.
  6. I reward good behaviour, and punish them when they misbehave when I set about training my terriers. A Reward would be a little treat like a chocolate button, and I'd punish them by giving them a quick whip across the ass with the lead. You ain't gonna cause any damage doing this, but its a sharp enough correction for them to know that playing up will result in a sharp pain and they soon collar on.
  7. 99% of the time BARF - CHICKEN, LAMB, BEEF, BEEF MINCE (including bones), TRIPE, RABBIT, HEART, LIVER and every now and then they'll get tuna. I'll sling them some Red Mills Racer in the morning as well, and if for one reason or another I haven't defrosted any raw stuff I'll give them the dry on the night time.
  8. Yeah good call Akton, I think its useful enough for most of the posters on here to gain something from.
  9. The dog was 9.4 Kg the last time I had him weighed which was about 3 weeks ago so I doubt his weight is much different now. Knowing that, how much would you say I give the dog? the tablets are 250mg. It's not a massive wound, but it does smell a bit and is weeping a little bit of puss. Pignut, Akton, Cheers!
  10. Is it OK to give oxytetracycline to my terrier? He's got a weeping wound and I wondered if I could use these anti biotics to help clear it up? They're 250 mg tablets so if it is OK to give them to the dog then how much should I give him? Half, quarter? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. He does look a strong pup at 6 month. I've got a black Lakey X Patt 9 month old, but he's thrown more to the Patt side. Not the best pic of him but here he is with our Russell -
  12. That's our season over, past 2 weekends we've had game heavy with cubs so time to pack it in, just the odd call out we'll get now from sheep farmers, but that's us done til next season. No point in killing your sport for next year. Yeah thats it mate, fair play.
  13. Me and a couple of lads off here had one earlier in the season out of some bales. Rough Coated's white terrier pushed it out. We were lucky I suppose. Well done anyway mate!
  14. Well done E.Mc! If indeed this is the end of your digging for this season then I hope this season has been a good one for you mate. Best of luck for the next one!
  15. It all depends on whether you've got the time to wait around for him to come good, thats if he does. IMO he should be nailing rats at his age, The ones I've seen on here have all been ratters and look pretty impressive at that job.
  16. I tried it with one of my terriers and I couldn't trust him with it.
  17. LOL!!! The Tabloids and the people working for them are probably the most moralless pieces of shit (next to politicians and nonces) on the face of the earth.
