  1. Thats a real shame, but if he didn't love his graft, he wouldn't of gone to ground in the first place, and you hear it all the time but he did die doing what he loved most. He was a proper soldier of a dog by the sounds of it! and fair play to you for providing the dog a working life that he loved and was bred to do. RIP Brock. PS. How old was he?
  2. I wouldn't be putting any pics up of my brandings on here if I had any.
  3. Sounds like the dog is a nervous wreck to me. If you get him back I'd phone the bloke up and pass him back to him, because it sounds to me like it's got some serious issues. A more experienced dog owner could probably help the dog, but as you said you've not been round dogs long enough to cope with a dog like this, so I'd get a different dog. Shame, hopefully there will be someone to sort the dog out with time and give it the graft he was bred for. All the best looking for a dog mate.
  4. LOL. turn your speakers up for this one.
  5. Just a question, I was thinking, is there any point in having both GSD and Collie in a Lurcher? Wouldn't the GSD provide enough brains as well as having more stopping power than a Collie X?
  6. Well if you're new to this game then the best thing I can tell you is to always do the best for your dogs, always respect your quarry and always work your dog(s) with in the letter of the Draconian hunting laws we have over here, no matter how much you do or don't like them.
  7. Theres a lot of this lately on here. People with hardly any posts asking dodgy questions.
  8. hows the dog getting on mate? Best of luck wit hit.
  9. It all depends, when you look at a bag of food for your dog, don't just look at the Protein percentage, look at how much of that food it will take for the dog to get the protein it needs. Like it could be 20% protein based for 100 grams of the food. Some other foods might be 20% but for only 70 grams of the food. Feeding too much protein can have a bad effect on the kidneys, but I would imagine that would take a long time to take effect and a stupid amount of protein being pumped into the dogs body. Besides the high protein, you should have a decent amount of fat as well, as dogs r
  10. The protein in Cheese and most other dairy products are released slowly, they're a casein protein source, and I'm not 100% sure whether dairy products are the best thing to feed a dog? Chicken is high in protein, and with the skin kept on has a decent amount of fat in it as well, plus the bones will give the dog a good source of calcium for healthy strong teeth and bones. Among other things, I feed my dogs Raw Chicken a lot and they do well on it. Don't ever cook your meats though, theres no need and the bones go brittle and can splinter which can cause problems, so stay away from
  11. I've used it before, its a vitamin supplement, and wont put any weight onto your dog. I find the best thing for weight gain was Lamb, but even then that wasnt the only thing they were eating as I feed them Chicken (legs, wings, thighs and necks) minced beef, beef heart, and anything we catch as well. Some dogs don't like having SA37 sprinkled onto their food at all and will not eat their snap if they smell it in there, so with your dog being a fussy eater you'll probably bump into some problems with the powdered gear. I used to put it in with Minced beef and give it a good mix and had bet
  12. Very good Bretku, some very good sport you've had there mate. I see your Nuttall dogs are doing you proud on the Brock, the terriers ultimate test below ground. Very good.
  13. Ey mate, he's lookin' nice . ... And his cousin as well! Smart dogs them, hope they work out for you pair!
  14. I have spoke to other terrier men about it though, who have Jagd's and Patts and I've been told there isn't a difference between the Patts he's worked and the Jagd's for earthwork.
  15. I know fairgame thru my brother and hes none of them things, hes just a straight talking bloke who knows what hes seen and knows what he wants, a lot of people dont like to hear the truth on these sites well thats what you get with fairgame he tells it like he sees it but to say that they're all crap i never seen a good one of them Fair enough, that I can't argue with.
  16. "Topdrive Kennels" What a fecking joke. Have you seen how much they charge for their dogs? Nah mate, I didn't buy him. I know the lad who bought him did shell out some coin for it though, Not my type of dog in all honesty.
  17. GET UP!!!! I'll be on the gargle!
  18. The person who took the pic must of been watching them for a while (maybe for some sort of research or a nature program or something) if it was by chance then he/she has been very lucky to get that pic.
  19. i never seen a good one of them....and by reading some of ye'r posts ye wouldn't know a good dog if it bite ye......... ...................................................... Whats that, you like hearing the sound of your own voice or something?
  20. Don't get stuck by this little sentence, mate. Just read the other 97 sentences I have also written. Anna But that sentence tells us more about your Patt and your Parson, than what you are telling us about the Jagd in the rest of the post. Anyway I don't want to keep on about it all, I wish you all the best over in Hungary with your hunting.
  21. All I'm saying is that there really wouldn't be a need for someone to go to all the hassle of importing German terriers when we've got Home grown dogs good enough to do the job. If people do start importing them for work then I say fair play and good luck to them, but I don't see the point in all honesty.
  22. Yeah thats the stuff, you can get it with a thick plastic coat on it as well, but that stuff there is all you'll need.
