  1. agree but would you willingly slip the dog or not IMO it depends on the dog you're running. I've had dogs that I couldn't run on plough cos they'd run full tilt at everything, and would've injured themselves badly eventually. Others have been fine, just going steady away but still more than fast enough.
  2. Like the look of Duke, it's the spitting image of Joe, a dog I had years ago, I lost count of the times people said to me that big dogs couldn't get down to pick rabbits up - he obviously didn't know cos he was red hot on them! he mint on rabbits for his size ,people think because of their size they car,nt pick up small prey ,they could,nt be more wrong. You're dead right there mate! A lot of those 'knowledgeable' people can't have seen many big dogs work, if they had they'd see how easy a good big un finds it.
  3. Nice looking dogss, in good fettle too
  4. I got several photos of this Blue Tit last winter, its beak's not as crossed as the Blackbird's in my other post, but still obviously deformed. It regularly landed briefly on the peanut feeder but it seemed to have difficulty feeding, preferring softer food like the bread in the photo.
  5. I got quite a few photos of Nuthatches visiting the garden, this is one of my favourites.
  6. I saw it several times after I got the photos, but I'm not sure whether it survived or not. P.S I had a look at your website, you've got some really good stuff.
  7. Looks a nice healthy litter, the bitch looks very well too. Well done.
  8. Couple of nice pups you've got there mate. ATB with them.
  9. Were they the pups being carried round at Yatts show by two young girls? If so they were belters, I'd definitely have been interested if I was looking for another dog. Hope they go to good working homes, if they haven't already. ATB.

  11. I agree, it's a learning curve (for us as well as the dogs lol). And I think we've all probably had many nights like that, but that makes the good nights even better.
  12. My current lurcher's the only one I've ever had that caught on it's first run. My best dog to date had several blank outings before catching, and I ended up having ten good seasons before retiring him. Sounds as if you're doing everything right and I'm sure he'll be catching like a good un real soon. All the best for the season.
  13. Hello. Hope you enjoy the site. I'd love to have a go at some of the fieldsports on offer over there!
  14. Chartpolski's right about how to adjust the beam. I also keep a filter holder attached all the time which helps reduce the peripheral glare round the edge of the beam. I've used them for years and I like them as they're light, small and give ample light for me, whether used with lurchers or on top of the scope on both rimfire and centrefires. Kenny Yes agree here. I use one, they are very good, and as you have mentioned small and light. I've had mine for 3yrs into it's 4th. No electrical problems what so ever, and good usage time too. Yes, that's another thing I like about them

  16. Hello, and all the best for the coming season.
  17. Put slightly differently but my point exactly.
