right thanks for all your input lads ,i have built a pen with a net over the top and the parts seem happy enough ,i have put a good sized shelter in it and just yesterday covered the floor of the pen with shavings as the weather has it a bit shitty but the shavings have sorted that and the birds wont get filthy i was told to give the pellets with the wormer in it first same as i did with my pheasants ,my pheasants are looking well alot have tails and the rest are getting there i was told to watch for them pecking each others tails but up till now they are fine the pen they are in is massive t

i wish i had just got an extra 50 pheasants now they have been a piece of cake to look afer saying that theres only 150 in a pen that 2 years ago held 600 so theres loads of room ,the last couple days i have noticed 2-3 older birds that have come in the pen through the pop holes ,well i guess i will just have to build a pen for the partridge and let them out in dribs and drabs so as to try and keep them around ,thanks gents
-
ok fellas i have 150 pheasants in a pen and have 50 partridge on there way i was wondering if i could just put the partridge in with the pheasants or should i build a little pen with a mesh cover on roof ,if i was just to put them in with the pheasants would they just disapear ? i was thinking of just opening the crates and move straight out the pen and let them wander out on there own come back next night once they have found barings so maybe that way they would hide in wind blow rather than f*****g off ? give me some advice please as it the first time i had pheasant and partridge thanks

your right no messin ,what people need to remember is there no set way for a pup to be thrown just because its a 1/2 x it dont mean it going to be heavy what ever percentage or breed you can only put the time in and hope the dog was born with a bit heart and really wants to do its job weather it giving that bit extra to catch its quarry when other dogs would have turned of because the wall or hedge was getting a bit close ,those are the times you remember best the times you thought the dog had misssed but it gets to it

Some petty arguments when running a lurcher club
zap replied to doxhope's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs

they are all so hard as nails because there 3/4 bedlington this is a quote from the start of the thread ,is the statement true or do you lot not think the real reason they are as hard like quoted is because the dogs have heart nothing to do with being beddy or bull or collie ect its a fact you get jackers in every x but heart is something that seperates a goodun from a bad un that little bit fire in there belly [ i'm not knocking what anyone says just trying to get views without arguement] edited to quickly clear something up when i say jackers i dont just mean fox dogs i also mean the d

once again your all argueing with each other and all its going to do is get your selves wound up for f**k sake theres some good threads on here without this pissy argueing if your happy thats it f**k me my 10 yearold girl enjoys being out with the dogs and wants on here to read some threads and get a bit knowledge from you lot as i my self aint been at the lurcher stuff for that long how the f**k can any young person reading this possibly get any encouragment from this ,come on folks yes debate but lets keep it at a adult like level

best of luck in reaching your goals kye

Yes thats what i mean there is a poultry farm near us with over 3000 free range hens, these foxes dont think like country foxes they will attempt most things and they have no fear of humans. Some of us around here need to earn a living, i earn a little money from the sale of eggs and that goes towards keeping my dogs. Its just not fair!! all this i would look into this big time i think you must have some sort of case here ,if you ain't got a case its a disgrace best of luck getting it or him sorted

surely if he is rearing then releasing them where they are affecting someones livley hood he is in the wrong there must be something that can be done ,trap some rats and when he goes away to a sale get the feckers through the letter box
