my dogs are wormed with drontal every 2 months but still managed to get and drop this tape worm ,yes your right keep up to date with worming but like i said if you freeze the meat for the correct length of time at the correct tempreture it kills the tape heads ,this is the best way of getting rid of the things worming only kills whats in there gut at the time of worming freezing kills it before entering the dog , i,ll leave it at that just something to think about as i said in my first post cheers zap

jane russel my dogs are wormed regular all 6 at the same time but wormers only kill whats there when you worm your dog if you feed them the day after a piece of infected meat your wormer does nothing ,i phoned the vet and asked about this ,so i hope your not implying that i dont do my dogs right

i,m sure its only cows sheep and goats which can be infected ,but its only dogs that can spread it ,the farmer which had the lambs condemed had never heard of it either he knew i fed raw so he was ok about it he still has 200+ lambs to go from the same flock so heres hoping the damage is minimal,i still feed raw as dogs love it i just freeze it for 14 days before feeding

just a quick piont about feeding raw ,i feed my dogs raw but just about 2 months ago i had a phone call from a farm where i have permission the farmer had sent a load of lambs to slaughter and had some of them condemed because of something called C-OVIS ,seemingly the sheep get this c-ovis from dogs shit out of dogs which have had raw meat basically this is how it works dog eats a piece of meat which contains this c-ovis sist in the sist there is a tape worm head which once it reaches the dogs gut kicks back into life producing thousands of eggs your dog shits every where and in every shit

no messin that was exactly what i was thinking ,thanks for all the replys still need to think alittle about this but if anyone knows of a cheap outlet for the galvinized mesh panels or could stick a pic up of there run just to give me somemore ideas that would be great thanks again

just now i have 2 runs for the dogs both runs are around 3metres by 2.5 metres one has 2 terriers and a lurcher the other has 1 lurcher .What i was looking to do is knock it all down and build three new kennel/runs so as the terriers are in run of there own i was thinking about buying the galv run panels and was hoping for a bit of advice first where the cheapest place to buy the panels [preferably mesh ones ] secondly what would you say the best size of run for a lurcher is ,i was thinking of making them 1metre wide by 2 metres long ,any opinions or photos of your set up would be great t

couple days after my pups have opened there eyes i have them on warm rice pudding then by 3-4 weeks they eating beef and they seem to have done well

first question ..whats the name of the book ? and what size do his terriers stand ? are there big leggy ones and short ones or has he got a level sort o hieght ,i know dogs will ussually be bigger than bitches ,but i have saw terriers out of the same litter [not middleton ] that you would never have believed where related some being close to whippet hieght and the others being close to yorkshire terrier size .I have heard a lot about this line but can,t think of ever seeing one work ,Are they a hard line of terrier or known as bayers ,cheers for any replies

so what age would you say pups are ready to go ? By the age of 6 weeks a pup should be of its mother and lapping -eating fine ,i see no advantage keeping them any longer ,
