  1. I made a mistake last time I brought a pre charge sean by selling it 6 mths down the line, I picked up one of them Falcon Raptors Skeleton stock things and loved it for its accuracy! but I was bang into flying the birds then virtualy everyday so the gun was relgated to the Cabinet.... the wife hit the roof as That gun with the Tasco World Class scope and Pump and other bits and peices cost me a tad over a grand, I ended up salling it for £500 around 6 mths later in pristine condition, the problem was it was layed out for a lefty with thumbhole stock and lefty bolt and even loaded the mag
  2. cracking shot zini :clapper: . nice to hear that pop as that pellet hit home mate.... shame you wasn't around this way!! you could fill my freezers up with hawk food cheers Jasp
  3. You have a valid point there Malt . But if you can land a .177 in the kill zone like any decent Hunter should be doing you won't have any problems. I dropped a squirrel many moons ago with another lad useing .177 Airsporter S only to find when skinning it a .22 jackal pointed pellet neatly wedged just under the pelt near the rib cage! I even traced it back to the lad who shot it from our Estate useing a Plinky BSA Meteor, I'm pretty confident if the same gun was in .177 it would of penetrated the rib cage and slayed the beast . A under powered gun like a Meteor is like a nats fart in .22!
  4. You're bang on there Bill . its like rolling back the youth again with these old springers, all the memories come rolling back for all the old fuddy duddy's like me.... A lad contacted me a couple of years ago and brought round a old .177 BSA Mercury S I had when I was about 17, it was offered to me for sale but the £200 price tag was a bit much at the time, its a shame as I wanted it mainly for sentimental reasons! my mother brought that gun for me back in 1982 for around £ brand new so £200 was a bit steep.... cheers Jasp
  5. Thanks guys I'm made up with the old gun! it's revitalised me into loving the Airguns again and given me a break from the birds. I had a few Inches profesionaly removed off this this old Vulcan a good few years back which seemed to be a Improvement! it certainly seems fairly whippy for a .22. when I got it back out again the gun and the scope caps was caked in Dust and it looked knackered, to think I was going to stick it on the BBS for £50 speares or repair just before I moved ....... Its got to be a Air Ranger for me Zini! I need to get a Ambi gun as my lad is right handed and I'm
  6. spent some time Reviving one of my old Guns and was surprised how accurate the poor old thing is. started off stripping and polishing the cylinder out, the spring and the PTFE Piston washer seemed ok but the breach seal was knackered, thankfully I finaly fitted a new one few days ago!! got myself a tin of Eley Wasp 5.5's and then spent some time getting the old gun zeroed, I was surprsed how consistent its been placing shot after shot well in the zone..... Finally stood in the strip of woods at the back of the house yesterday evening and dropped one pigeon nicely through the cranium and r
  7. Gary Cobb needs a medal for that one Pig Rearing it is for me from now on then ..........
  8. Just out of Interest lads some opinions from both sides? Michael Own looks pretty shot to me and way out of sorts infront of goal , OK he was a freebie but so he should be! I suppose He'll always be handy as a sub but Berbatov is a total waste of space and needs booting ....
  9. Cracking Gun!! I fancied one after a pal had a prosport but all the seondhand one's have been righthanders... I'm even struggling to find a decent lefthand Pre Charge..... Jasp

    why 2 rings

Yep you have a point but the smaller ring can be handy when ringing a bird earley, I like to stick both rings on the one leg with the larger ring at the top followed by the smaller, the smaller obviousley being tighter helps stop the larger ring falling off plus a little Micropour also helps, having said that some large females will also fill out the female rings.... "Brew" is 100% right about the ring expecially with the Goshawks! the male rings on the female Goshawks will get pretty tight restricting blood flow to the leg, this will show up usually by fay 12-18 depending on the race of b
  11. spot on! the highlight of their season was a win against UTD, they'll win f**k all again this year........

  13. It would have to be the Tories for me! BNP would be a close second but Unfortunately I can't ever see then challanging for the top pushing the Labour shite out of power...... I can't also say I rate Cameron as the leader of the conservatives, he behaves much like a young Tony Blair but this guy Daniel Hannan hopefully one day will take the helm, He shoots from the hip and seems to say it as it is! deffo one to watch in the future.... this was him tearing Gordon a new arsehole

Griffin was bang on when he quoted the islamic faith and Qur'an and what it stands for, these Imigrants who live or come to live in this country should abide by our religeons and never be allowed to preach the Qur'an or any other..... Jack straws Imigration policies are a f*****g digrace......

    Our Nick

the country is a f*****g laugh a minute! Nick Griffin got a spot on question time due to gennuine voters putting him there, the guy deserves to have his freedom of speech just like any other politition. there's alot MP's past and present commited worse crimes than he ever has like skimming thousands on pounds for Mortgages and thousands of pounds in expenses that didn't exist from us Joe Public..... What a shame there wasn't a bit more organiseing from the BNP supporters to stand outside the BBC and give him some voice of support! It would have been interesting to see how the so called "An

  19. The only "Aviary abandonment" I have witnessed was a good few years ago when a Breeding female Gos decided to leave the aviary when I opended the door to take the first clutch, this Bird abandoned its aviary in a big f*****g way! after a week never to be seen again ..... Moral of the story!!!!! serves me f*****g right for not Building double doors, but a wise man learns from his mistakes....... Jasp
  20. Its worth contacting the RAF in those circumstances. My friends Mare aborted after low flying exercises over her fields... (the horses were going nuts) ... and she was fully compensated You're right Tis! the lad I was talking about had one offer for the bird from the MOD which he has turned down! he provided them with breeding records, the age of the bird, the amount it cost him and also potentialy the figures money wise that bird could have made should it had lived another 10 years or more.... His first offer was pretty sparce when you consider whats mentioned above! hopefully the

  22. The place we just moved from was a graveyard of mainly Goshawks which died of Asper over the years, also chicks which either fell out of the nest or was Murdered by the parents. for some reason I lost two Goshawks in one year down to Asper which knocked me sideways! I can't say anything for sure but the neighbour used to have a compost heap litteraly feet away from one of the aviaries which could have been the cause, then again who knows.... Times like this you have to pick yourself up, brush yourself down and move on! like you say Rod shit happens expecially when you're keeping Birds Of P
  23. Thats a shame mate ! it happens to us all sometimes for one reason or another, a pal lost his proven Finn male this year due to 2 RAF Helicopters coming over low he hit the beam in the roof and it killed him, he recons the copters was that low you could see the bolts on the sides .... that bird could have carried on breeding for a good 10 more years and produced countless young, how can they put a price on a bird like that!! they would be talking in telephone numbers money wise.... Cheers Jasper
