  1. noticed a total lack on insects in the garden this year stig, I read somehwere that alot of birds that depend on insects to rear young and survive will get hammered this year... we have three apple trees and one pear tree in the garden, two apple trees have nothing on them and one has two apples on, the pear has two on also. seems they never got pollinated because of the lack of bees perhaps....
  2. Its a total wash out here, having to wear wellies to go down the aviaries because the garden if flooded . god knows whats happend to the seasons in this country, the whole climate is totaly tits up......
  3. I was shocked but I can catagoricaly say that Buzzards will 1 Million % take full grown Pheasants . I live on a sporting estate with a pen litteraly about 250 yds from the back of my aviaries, the wife takes a short cut round the track past the pen and also along the edge of the woods where the feeders are stood to take the kids to school, many times me and also the wife has seen a Buzzard fly out from the maze cover or near to the feeders where a carcass of a Pheasant lays. Ok we can all say the Pheasant was poorly or dead already but this is not the case, there's always a scattering of

  5. Smashing wee Long-wings,...I enjoyed them immensely when working on KES... Nice picture Chalky . I started with a Kestrel after keeping Jackdaws and other birds when I was a lad but it was a few years after you by the looks of it mate, they had colour pictures when I got into them ....
  6. Looks good stubby ... I have a old National here which I had given to me a while back, it's in need of a new brood box and floor which I was planning on buying pretty soon... The question is have I left it to late in the season to start a Hive off? the Hive will be fully functional when I get the brood box and floor......
  7. nice one stig, the guy has definitley copied some of my old moves . a cousin of mine from Geordie land did near on exactly the same after he got smashed at our wedding reception, it still kills me when I see the video of the evening
  8. spot on carragh, you need a medal mate.......
  9. spot on Garragh 10 out of 10 for compassion... wish I could help you mate but you are miles away from me by the looks of it, hopefully there'll be somone in Ireland on the site who can help?
  10. You're 100% right..... I never beleived a few years ago that wild Buzzards would take fully grown Pheasants, I know for definite they do now somtimes on a regular basis.......
  11. I get big problems with them most days lately. they come over the top of my aviaries pretty low swing round and come back over for another look, the Peregrines litteraly hit the roof hanging off the mesh trying to engage them to protect their young. the problem is I end up with young birds jumping out of the nest in panic when the mother is throwing a wobbly. I have no idea what the Buzzards are after? could be the day old cockerals or quail in the aviary or other food, then again they could also be quartering the aviaries to take some of my youngtsers off the ledge .... seen more Buz

  20. FFS take a breath Gnash ... think I need to bow out now to your knowledge in the ethics of Football, My heads sore as f**k now
  21. Think you'll find it was Man Utds to lose towards the end, 7 points clear with about 3 - 4 games to go I would certainly say they lost it when it should have been in the bag. I'm well aware of what you're saying, I'm also a realist... if my team play or team players play crap am I supposed to say " well we tried our best the poor lads"? if they did then they get my support but when players like Rooney who looks Overweight out of condition and to be honest shouldn't have been on the pitch play terrible I'm going to vent my spleen. this guy virtually held his club to ransom the other year fo
  22. you're right! young lads from this country don't get the chance these days, trouble is big spending clubs buy big names foreign players, other clubs follow suit as close as they can to compete in the premiership to hopefully stay up. the poor english lads coming through the ranks never get the chance except being loaned out to lower divisions... Its all about keeping up and money these days no matter what the consequences, pretty sad really when you see some good Raw talent pushed down the pecking order....

    help needed

With all respect mate I Can't beleive you're planning on getting a bird without doing the homework first, these birds need care and attention so plenty of time should always be put to one side to put the bird first. time to kill is essential so be prepared to be held to ransom by it when in flying condition, the bird will need to be put out to weather and weighed prior to flying, you need a weathering or some mews and also equipment as mentioned above.... first and formost like any sport involving livestock expecially a BOP you will need some handling experience and also a Understanding an
  24. 100% bang on . one of the better all round players I think I have witnessed was Gascoigne... an England team obviously full of Englishmen looks lost on the pitch, If we had a GB team with players like Giggs and Roy Keane in the past I think we would have been much harder to turn over....
