    buzzards

spot on Lab . Trust me mate I genuinly know where you're coming from, it 's different here as perhaps the Buzzards are occupied with the mixy Rabbits and other easy picking. I've got to know a few keepers in the past and all seem under stress in the season, its definitely a high pressure job and one I don't think I could handle. I get the impression alot of people don't realise quite whats invloved.... Jasp

    buzzards

Not in this area they don't Lab, like I said I live litteraly yards from a large pen with a near on 2 acre garden that gets peppered with poults, I'm yet to see a Buzzard take one, and trust me I'm about here virtually all the time. perhaps there's bugger all else where you are for them to feed on so like any living creature they will need to feed somehow . another way of looking at it if I made my living from growing fruit includeing cherries which always get hit hard, the problem I have is a constant menace of Blackbirds and other birds coming in and hammering my profits, I can net the

    buzzards

My post certainly wasn't aimed at you BH . and I 100% agree they do and will take Gamebirds mate. they put down a average of 15,000 Pheasants on this estate and a few thousand Partridge, there are Buzzards everywhere as I'm sure Millet can back me up on, I see them regular ringing round and round and never seen one yet take a Gamebird although I'm sure some poults get taken now and again. there's a large meadow on the Esatate which you can only descibe as Watership down, its bunny city! this is the area where the Buzzards are most concentrated, there's a fair few bunny's with Mixy whi

    buzzards

How Buzzards can be mentioned in the same sentence as Vermin is beyond me . Buzzards certainly are'nt oportunists like some vermin that plague the keepers pen looking to muller everything that moves. buzzard's will always look for a lazy meal and not the sort of bird that likes to expel alot of energy Hunting, they also have a pretty slow metabolism compared to some other species of BOP and can quite easily take a crop of food and go a few days without feeding again, they will also return regular to somthing stashed or pick up some carrion from a carcass somewhere. spoke to the keeper
  8. A nice book by Phillip Glasier . a couple more worth a read is A falcon In The Field - Jack Mavrogordato. Observations on Modern Falconry - Ronald Stevens. Both cracking books in their own right .
  9. Think its a sad state of affairs when a good genuine decent topic get wrecked by a few Numpties, I've lost count how many times I have tidied up Topics by deleteing posts. its a hard job sometimes expecially if people keep quoteing the same posts! you end up with pages of the same posts quoted over and over again . some topics definitely invite critiscism and some are put up to be controversial, personally I think somtimes to a degree these sort or topics can be left unless it gets well out of hand, it would be a sad world if we agreed on everything. don't forget? No kicking in the goolies
  10. cracking picture there Bud probably a stupid question!! Is it true you can get high walking through poppy fields?

  16. Mine was a metalic red Lee! remember there used to be a few of us when we was 16 hammering little 50's about . think the fastest was a Garelli Tiger X, another lad had a Honda SS50 and another had a Suzuki AP, I loved my little Yammy and finally moved up to a DT175MX which was my pride and joy until I smashed my knee showing off doing wheelies on the back pegs ....

  21. Would be nice if the UK could put all their differences aside and unite for this one, if you look at players available across the UK we could produce a seriously good team. thing is who will manage the squad without upsetting other countries involved in the team?
