  2. I'm enviouse and jealouse Timelord . Fire some pic's up and let us know your verdict on the gun mate! I'm always interested in reading a proper blow by blow account of a new Gun weather its good or bad, the problem with alot of the Magazines is they just don't shoot from the hip enough and over praise some otherwise poor guns ... 4. Actually, I think it's March when the changes occur. But, it's about the new 13 emission bands for cars regd since 2000. To the best of my knowledge from recent research, commercials are not included, so the £180 charge should remain. That doesn't mean that Darling won't jack it up a bit though! I hope I'm right, or there will be a lot of very unhappy pick up owners if the charges revert to emissions based rates. (would be about £415 for a Navara). Lets hope so hey Geoff . I don't fancy paying over £400 for a silly peice of paper to display in my window just to keep the Govenment hap

    question

I flew a 18 year old Goshawk in 1997 for part of a season called "Belen" which belonged to a pal! she was flown again until she was 20 - 21 by her owner and then retired. the bird was also carrying some lead shot in her chest from a previouse encounter with a keeper some years before but still got the job done, by the time I flew her she was getting past the taking Gamebirds in flight stage but still balistic on Rabbits and Hares ... 9. Its been done to Death now Rickardo . I suppose its Horses for courses for some people on what way they want to go! I obviousley love P/R birds but the guy next to me might prefer Imprints which is good and makes things Interesting .... This was a bit of a bundle which kicked off a while back on the Imprint vs P/R saga! I've been involved on this subject on other forums and Forums which have now finished so its easier to just cut and paste some stuff out of the archives now below.... Jasp Gos Male And Woodcock ...
  10. For the first question: I suppose in Falconry terms it depends on how bright the Indivudual is Rickardo.... Second Question: How much time have you got? The easiest thing is the world is to go out and Hunt and kill something with a Goshawk. WAG came down today and this Gos wasn't the slightest Interested in food but still flew to me and him no problem and still bated like f**k at Rabbits and other stuff way over the other end of the field........
  11. You'll have to let me know Spar when he is aloud out to play sometime Jasper
  12. Cracking stuff Astroturf for perches and ledges! But I have used it on bows in the past and found the Ring gets snagged when the birds bates across the bow from one side to the other, I still wrap leather round my old one's and back it out with tight coiled rope underneath first .... Jasper
  13. Thats the one Richy! and obviousley stop selling them to arseholes who have no idea
  14. nice one Rickardo it looks like you had some good sport . Tell them to get the lawnmower on that grass so them Rabbits can run a bit faster next time . Just kidding mate...... Jasp

    hawk's

You're 100% right Stokie about the Harris situation . they're a good Hunting bird at a resonable price which these days fits the bill for most people, expecially for those who can't get to fly them so much week days. it makes me laugh as when I first started breeding them they was going for £950 and £650 plus they would go pretty quick too.... cheers Jasp
  20. Outstanding Band . the first album I brought was Powerage and I think the next was If You Want Blood? You've Got It... A couple of my Favourite tracks was Let There Be Rock and Riff Raff during the Bon Scott years ... Jasper
  21. Very Nice! seen a few Red leg Tarantula's but that one is a stunner ... Jasper

    hawk's

Yep thats a fair point! when my Harris's and Gos's went abroad this year I have no idea what experience the falconers have ... Then again from my own experience I have had people come down who talk the talk after reading a few books yet have never handled a bird, its easy to fall for their patter until later they're on the phone asking silly questions or you hear it from a third party what a mess they're making of it...... I think Breeders have enough on their plate to Vet homes of every potential purchaser, it doesn't just go on with birds its right through the spectrum with all live

    hawk's

Never a true'er word spoken. The calamaties that we here of and witness is beyond beleif. The classic "My bird is still slow coming to the fist/lure! should I take some more weight off it?" when you dig deeper you find that the bird has already had a good few oz's off it and virtualy on its final legs ... people like this should never have a Hawk until they have completed some sort of apprentiship..... Jasper
  24. Mines a Double cab but it still didn't change. no body has ever mentioned to me about things changing again in January, I thought it was all done and dusted now! or are they planning on Hammering 4 x 4's again? .... Jasper
