Just got my car Tax reminder through for the 02 Navara and you'll all be pleased to know who has one it Hasn't changed ... Now I know why I love it Jasper

Its alot about Nutrition, The Photo synthisis Period (Day Light), the condition of the bird, Kept on short rations it will Moult out slower all what Silver Fox has already mentioned . Stress slows them down if they are in a stressed out environment plus expect Feather problems too... If I'm flying one it goes into a seclusion a chamber at the end of the season, up the quality of diet and Basically just let them get on with it untouched. the Breeding birds are always slow to moult and still moulting through now, the female hold back their Moult when in breeding condition and subsequently eg

I'm not sure which one I would have but I remember the one on the far left was a Dark bird and very spooky, she only had to clock you peering through a spyhole and she instantly tightend and started jumping about, it also was real spooked when the other two would Spar over food.... The one on the far right was the biggest but also seemed very sensible in the aviary as was the middle one. I have had them before like her which are very inquesitive!! when they see someone peering through the spyhole they come over for a look and peer back at you, perhaps they're a bit more confident ....

You naughty boy Millet ! whatever made you think this is a Hunting forum mate ... Jasper

I know mate I like the smaller birds from a flying point of view! but I do like the bigger male Gos's for the game birds and Bunny's. the trouble is from a breeding point of view I can virtualy Guarantee if I have 3 young female or male Gos's in a aviary it would be the Biggest that was sold first, for some reason people seem to think "Big" is better but there is nothing further from the truth... I was talking to Millet the other evening about Finn x German Goshawks! in the past I have had 3 males all off the same parents in a avairy, one was slightly bigger than the other two which I woul

No mate I only kept them for two seasons and wasn't that bothered about them to be Honest! most of the pictures above came from people who brought birds. weather they was pure Peruvian I don't know but they definitley had that blood running through them acording to the guy I did the deal with, to this day I have never seen Harris's that tiny.......

The pair went to wales for £400 . the female turned out to have a small problem with one of her eyes but from a Breeding point of view they was fine when they produced fertile eggs.... when this old pair of Harris's have finished I'll be finished breeding them I think although I have kept back a male which is now 4 to replace this old pair, the mother is now 16 and Produced two clutches every year for me since the 90's, the pair produced 7 this year..... This is just a few of the youngsters! the males come out of the aviary around 1lb 13 and some good size females. the father which is

Up to about 4 years ago I had a small line from peruvian origin. I picked them up 2 years prior to this and bred them for a couple of years but they was never very productive and fired out a succesion of infertile eggs... The youngsters was tiny and the males topping out around 1lb 4! Females at the very top 2lb, cracking little birds though but as it always happens in this country they was a b*****d to shift, too many people with Big willy's who want big birds , which is a shame....... Trying to find a a so called Mentor in the link placed above is going to be a hard one mate!! there's a good few gennuine one's but most are not what they're jacked up to be, beleive me I have had plenty down on field meets in the past... there's far to many Internet experts on alot of these sites that read alot of books but never quite get out and do what they talk about, also far too many chewing themselves for my liking .... Take a look Joe in the archives in the search option mate! if not I'm sure you'll get some sensible answers soon from lads who actually get out and do it or have do

A good few years back when I had BSA Mercury's and the odd Meteor if the breach seal was leaking but still looked fairly tidy but perhaps leaking slightly due to being slightly squashed, I would remove it with a Pin and place a small strips of silver paper evenly round the entire circle the recess where the seal pushes in, when you put the old seal back in this would make it stand slightly proud again and stop any leakage.... It may need some slight adjustments but it works in the end.... Jasper

bang on Horris. Lets hope its ended up somewhere with someone who knows what they're doing before the picked the bird up... Jasper

That bird will be upto 1lb 13 by christmas Millet I'm confident of that mate. Timmy's will fly at that which is from the same blood but obviousley alot older. He has now been pushed from the 1lb 10 1/2 mark and he will go alot higher! flying him hard will produce more Lactic Acid hence improve its fitness but also quality of food will also be needed to keep his engine room in condition without weekening him, You can now see with him the added condition and quality of food has helped with the building of Muscle to sustain the longer flights, holding birds low as been seen before will stop the b

I know Alex Stokes and Julian Stevens are living out there now! I think JS is out Saskatchewan way . I'll get on the blower and find out which part Alex is in.... Jasper

Nice one TJ! that Bunny will add some confidence to him when he has to work hard on one in the future. success and fitness gives them bags of confidence ...... Jasper

Yes mate it makes alot of difference. I can turn the gain down with the Pre-Amp off so you hardly here any Audible bleep and just a mild indication on the Meter!! Turn the Pre-Amp on and the Needle on the scale will fire across the scale and top out, the Audible signal also is amplified... It behaves like any Amplifier!! it does just what it says on the box and Amplifies the signal over a greater distance, it also help filter out gack ground noise. I contacted Louie Luksander in 94 for a Transmitter who asked me if I wanted to give one of these Amps a whirl, so far they had only been tried

They're worth their weight in Gold TJ . I have flown birds like Redtails without telemetry but they didn't go too far. having said that a Unfit Redtail will sometimes take a stroll down wind out of laziness of a breezy day, then again I this goes for most species.... The only thing with Telemetry is it can lead you into false security taking risks with weight control, without out it on a day when perhaps its blowing a Hooly or if a bird is over weight or a bit spooky we wouldn't fly it and take the risk, but when you have telemetry we're confident to get the bird back so risks are take

Its nothing special mate but it does the job as good as any other sytem on the Market for a decent price. at the end of the day all I'm interested in is locateing my bird and this has done it fine for me for years, I'm not into all the super Fandango gadgets that come with some systems! if its tracks well and I get a result with the bird back then its done its job in my book .... Jasper

I was recommended this set up many moons ago by Ron Digby and used this sytem Luksander MN10 since the beggining of the Nineties and so far has never missed a beat! it could do with Re-calibrateing now but thats about it. its been thrown on the floor slid off the car roof when I forgot about it and loaned out many times and still stayed very trustworthy. the only add on as you can see in the picture is a Pre - Amp Filter which came in from F & L Electronics in about 94 which also proved to be a good bye, it filters out alot of background noise and also Ampilfies the signal should it e

Outstanding news mate . Best wishes to you all Stabs ......

Anyone recognise these old Guns? The two together I still have and my lad uses the smaller for Pinking cans. the other the lad is holding is a gun I probably shot more Squirrels and Pigeons with this .177 than any other Air Rifle I owned.. I had this gun in my earley late teens and totaly adored it. But things took a turn for the worse when one of my best friends at the time Hung himself under a subway, . when I attended the funerial his younger brother was there torn apart and breaking his heart in tears on my shoulder. The following weekend I stuck the gun back in its original box

I can't be accurate quite how old I was but my first Rifle was passed onto me by my brother which was a .22 MILBRO, before that I had a GAT Pistol which I didn't have the strength to push down and load .. After useing the MILBRO in the back yard and round my Nans who had 3 acres and a apple orchard I moved onto a WEBLEY HAWK MKII with interchangable barrels .177/.22. then to a WEBLEY VULCAN .177 and Tasco 2.75 x 40 scope, from there I went through all the BSA springers of the 70's and 's and a couple of Webleys to a dew Pre-charge late 90's onwards... To put a estimate on my age I star

there's nothing to stop it being done but I can't see what the benefits would be ? sticking Pere semen into a Kestrel will destroy most things thats good about a peregrine, certainly something I wouldn't look at doing. Its the same as the talk of a Gos x Harris Hybrid , sounds good on paper and could I suppose fill in a Niche for some Falconers but at the end of the day Why spoil a good Gos ... Jasper
