  1. Like Ian rob said by anyone's standards! There is a big thing about the big bag. You can only catch what is there at the end of the day, this depends on the land you hunt. If the big bag lads were to come on your land do you think they would get many more than you do yourself? We all like the bag at the end of the day, but it's not everything in the world of hunting!
  2. Fourtrak! Got the only k reg non turbo diesel i know! Keeps going and going! Something to be said for nothing to go wrong!
  3. What is it with the pretty girls and smashing the rats up! Leave a few for the ugly fellas's Chris!
  4. 23 - 24 tts but not sure. Whats she thrown from?
  5. Around 7 years ago, there was no mixi around the area we work. (only once in 16 yrs) At this time we had the great dog 'Roy' (of all names), At the top of his game, super fit, plated and pinned leg, collie grey rabbit machine. (a blue and white dog as well to make things better!) Not a fast dog, not a big dog, but a bloody determined dog! (hence the plated leg) The dog was a machine, like a terminator version of a rabbit dog. Run, mark, hunt up and catch all day, over any terrain. Only the best got away from him. At the same time, I was a super fit lad, at 28 yrs old, at my peak, keen as h
  6. Young one's will fool around a bit, the world of ferreting is a big place to a kit, dogs and folk stomping around above them. But from what you have said, (and i've seen it lots of times) the young critter has taken a slamming off the hind legs of a rabbit saying it's not coming out. Seen plenty of jills and hobs getting into it full swing, untill they get this, and then it's like a light switch, and never seen it switch back on again. Good luck with her, hope she comes round.
  7. Quick dogs, and fun to watch running. The crosses will give more stamina, and take the knocks better if you need a heavier workload to be taken on.
  8. These are photo's of our young dogs pushing 18 months old, after an all day session on the bunnies yesterday. Maybee 30 runs plus in a day, plus hunting up inbetween, (not slipped). These dogs got the odd outing at the end of last season, (end of feb) just to give them an idea. And have been given the chance to work hard for the last 5-6 weeks, (twice a week) to learn there trade. They are 4th generation collie greys, bred from worker to worker, proven rabbit dogs, at 26"tts, strong and have stamina. Even now we will hold them back from running them in a few areas, untill next year maybee,
  9. It's good them bieng able to carry that many, but the poor sod underneath sometimes isn't 'Strong Stuff!'
  10. Kostya was an awesome fight, at the highest level! Mayweather and Collazio (i think) were the next weight up from Wicky's normal fight weight, and proved a bit too big for him. Ricky beats him 5th round TKO.
  11. Any space in a cage for a 17 stone sandy there?
  12. Liver fluke probably, a bit yellow in colour? Either that or he likes his stella a bit too much!
  13. The dogs definatly look knackered in the last pic. Anyone would think they had a hard day!
  14. Welcome to the site Tony anyhow! To put stuff in your profile, click on your username in the top left corner of your screen, then click on the bits you want to add too! Still working it out myself, but getting there slowly. Like it' has been said, people need to get to know people, and don't like taking anybody out who they don't know! Hope you find some help or get your own land in the future! Listen how to do it off a pro in the above post! That's where I was going wrong!
  15. Sounds like the hob is coming round well if he's not nervous, he should do well! Fingers crossed with the jill as well, sounds like she may just take a little longer. Keep us posted on how they do when you work them, it will be like xmas for them!
  16. Looks like you're getting out a lot! Keep it up feller!
  17. Cheers fellas, feeling it now though! Bit like the dogs!
  18. Sorry to hear about the dog, Rip Jasper. Not having a great run lately are you Chris, chin up lass.
  19. Bought a couple of carrying straps off Strong Stuff, he said the were made to carry 20 rabbits. Tested them a little further than 20! There's 36 on it here, and coped with ease! (Does this affect my guarantee? )
  20. Scabbed another day of work yesterday at the last minute, phoned the old feller to see if he wanted to go out as the forecast was good. Decided to try some land we had not been on for a while in the south lakes area. We took the young dogs to continue there education, they seem to have got the hunting up bit in cover sussed now, the running is cracking to watch, but the marking still needed work, covering the ground a bit too fast and missing marks, than having to drag them back to the holes, and eventually then they mark. It was ideal today, lots of warrens (not big) scattered over an area
  21. Looks lik a fox to me, the stance give's it away.
  22. Big hit big boy! Looking a little familiar in the piccie!
  23. If it was a mark 1 collar i'd scream result! Bloody buggers everywhere!
