  1. WorldHunter has photo's and breeding of all the dogs on his forum. Cheers. Cheers mate.
  2. Can anybody put any info up on the type of dogs the lads are running? If it's big numbers in the final, the dog is going to need the stamina along with everything else + luck!
  3. Now then Brimmer, I was impressed by them, thought after all the s**t they'd been through they would'nt have had the heart for it, glad to say I was wrong, they only did four rabbits in all, just wanted to get them out and sorted really, taking them back to the same hedge when I get time, did'nt get it finished because of the weather, after that I've got some woodland to do with a decent head of rabbits, don't want to push them to far to fast, think they could turn into gooduns if I look after them a bit. There looking in fine fettle now mate, they got lucky the day you went to pick them u
  4. Superb to see them getting out at last Stealthy, looks like it was all worthwhile! How were they on the catchup at the end?
  5. Nice one! I'd missed this post! Thats the start of things for you, good luck in the future!
  6. Use any piccies of mine kiddow, no probs. (if your crazy enough to use them!)
  7. Tell me about it! i tried picking 36 up, and nearly fell over laughing! I had to dip my knees, get my shoulder under it, and drive the legs up! Stupid C##t carried them probs 800 yrds back to the truck though! And i wonder why i cannot do a good day's work! (good day out John by the way!)
  8. Hi Mate, Joonsey no doubt can do the job well, however I feel he's being a little dogmatic. I can manage fine doing it either way. Peg as you go, done very carefully will keep the bag in each section. It is possible still however to get in a mess. It is easier if there is two of you. Tied in bag can cause problems. The net can blow along over the knotted part giving a large heap of unmanageable difficult to sort net. Peg as you go and always lift the net into the wind, if you can. If you back peg, always be aware of keeping your net sorted ie if your bag
  9. Once what's wrong with you man! get the blade going sharpish, you'll be bumping the numbers up quick fashion! I dig on average, 10 -12 times an outing, If it shows under 3 feet i start to laugh and say it a shallow un! (old feller frowns to be honest!) May try to get tuesday off, and try pure terrier marking for the day, Will need the nets then though!
  10. Yep the carriers are up to it, so does 36 still hold the limit so far? I nearly crippled myself with that! I agree 100% about the big hobs also, get the killing machines in, and turn the sod, Done and dusted, no messing!. Also how many would you have got if you had dogs to catch them and not bother netting up? Good work. Keep it up,
  11. Nice one! The piccie of the dog asleep on top of the bag is priceless!
  12. I'm no experienced man on the old longnet, but can relate to what Joonsy said about the kill bieng pushed up to one end with the wind, then the cursing going on as i tried pulling it back over itself! Could tying it up every few yards help? Spoke to my old man about this, he thinks maybee?
  13. Cheers lads. To be honest it's getter harder and harder every year to get decent bags, maybee it's the mixi? (my old man thinks this) Or maybee it's the year after year working that does it? (i think this). One thing i know for certain it's harder to get the goods.
  14. Only a matter of time lofti lad! Those critters look serious, but no hunting shetlands with them eh! I know a season is a long way off, but go steady with them mate, next year is going to be your busy time!
  15. Superb post! You don't need a big bag to have a good day, just bieng out there is most of it! Bladdy cold though! If you didn't set the net right the total would have been way down. Sounds like it was done thoroughly, and worked the area out properly!
  16. After a bad day yesterday, made me more determined to get a few! We didn't do great yesterday, but that was in part, the bunny's were scarce! Got up to our permission around 8.30 am, it was a cold night, and the temp on the truck showed -4 as we got there. Also a little bit of breeze to cool thing down! BRRRR! I'd took all three older hobs today, had enough of the younger one's and the jills. Within a few mins the first mark, and for some crazy reason, netted up! Just looking at this fellow tells you the tale! And such an easy dig! Had a great morning to be honest, the young dog
  17. Did he leave his cap on whilst in the pub? Brad your almost northern looking with that flat cap on!
  18. If you can fit the tip of your first finger in with a squeeze it about right. Always making extra holes in the collar myself. Amazing how even on the same ferret, with hard work it loses weight, and the collar need taking in a bit!
  19. Nice one Andy! Did i miss out on the chance of a big dig? Glad to see you got some help, it always makes things easier!
  20. Great to see people helping others out! Lot's of respect carl.
  21. Cheers Will yer young bug, i'll try that out! I've got a couple of jills mate,(5 of them!) they just get beat up all the time off the northern rabbit!
  22. How hard is it Ian to try to put into words how to set a longnet? Bladdy hard that's what! I bet someone showing how to do it once could beat a 100 posts telling how to do it! (by the way, might look into the peg and go thing!)
  23. Tremendous read fellas. Keep it coming, nice to hear of hunting more than rabbits!
  24. The poley's will have better human rights than the abino, that's a fact. Terror ferrets!
