  1. Must admit, i'm not one to riddicule people, but any hard working ferret is not going to be swayed by a whistle, smoked salmon, or a nuclear bomb for that matter. A ferret will come out when it's good and ready, and usually when it's killed everything down there. If it comes out before then, either the bunny's stopped up, running scared or dead. Is this another wind up?
  2. Cheers Stealthy mate, how did you go on today?
  3. Just a £100 fuji compact, think i need an SLR to get the piccies i want. The thing is with taking the running piccies, you're usually behind the working animals, following up. This coupled with digging, carrying and ferreting does not leave you with much of a chance to take the piccies!
  4. Maybee a stoat or mink had been down through those bury's? Sometimes the ferrets can have off days though, but it usually takes a lot to knock them off!
  5. The snow from earlier in the week has not yet disappeared in the hills, just thinner in parts! This meant we could not get to new ground, just rework an area we did 6 weeks ago. Luckily the lads that do the surrounding land are are not much cop, and a few had moved back in! The snow is soft underneath, but has a crust on top. Meaning, the rabbits skip across the surface, whilst the dogs crunch through with every step! When there is heavy weather, rain or snow, not a lot is sat out, and mostly the rabbits are in the holes or the broken down walls. One of the young dogs has a unique
  6. Nice one Magwitch! Pretty much the same today ourselves, dig, dig, dig! Also our last mk1 box is on it's way out!
  7. FIELDSPORTHUNTER will be posting pics once he gets online mate Cheers Micky!
  8. You should only have to wait a couple of minutes top to be honest. An experienced ferret will leave a bury once it's empty. (only thing on it's mind is live rabbits.) If an experienced ferret keeps going back down, and showing again, either the rabbit is stopped up, and he cannot get to the head, or the rabbit is giving it the run around. If a ferret is in one place for a couple of mins, there is something there!
  9. Good show fellers, no wonder you're knackered getting that many!
  10. Nice one fellas! Sounds like it all worked out for you! Any piccies?
  11. Hobs, no nets and digging are my type of combo! Nice one!
  12. Yep sooner rather than later. They all become part of the gang, and leave each other alone when brought up together.
  13. Your ferrets probably had them stopped up, with the arse end facing them. These take a lot of budging. Next time, leave the flask alone, use your locater, mark the spots where they are not moving. Then get that blade flashing!
  14. The rescues going out again? Out tommorow and sunday as well mate. Good luck!
  15. Keen on with one hand! Where there's a will there's a way! Well done.
