  1. One of those Fuji 10 mega pixie things, ok at 10 yrds but no good for zooming!
  2. Thats the one, only it's beak is not so pretty, its all mucky through probing for worms, but it's still a whitey. Just too good for a clown with a tesco's camera!
  3. It's just one of those white crow things, just cannot get near to it for a piccie. Think i've found my job for the summer, get some good snaps of this critter!
  4. Very white, with the blackest of hearts. Untouchable All I want is a photo!
  5. Those that know whats in the piccie will know how hard it is to get a photo of one of these critters in there normal clothes, caution is in there nature! Been lucky enough to see 6 of these in the past, even two in the same field. This one lives a few miles from me, and have been watching it for a few years now, but getting a photo close up is a hard task with one of the most paranoid birds on the planet. It will stay put whilst you are in the motor, but step out and it's away, usually around 500 yrds away, what sort of equipment would capture this rascal for some close ups? (And
  6. Over 1300 from end of Sept till early Feb. Hit them hard as usual, no need to carry on whilst they carry the young. There are rabbits there, but too many hunters for big bags.
  7. As the season is over for some and getting close for others, how about an ongoing thread for everyone to post there season's bags and special shots? Just edit your post and add shots of your bag and happenings as you go. Here's mine. 2009 September bring it on!
  8. My Mate. Full Stop.

  9. Feck me that one was deep, 2 weeks to get through and me ferret looks like a pencil! Season is over for me lads, hit it hard when I needed to and got over 1300 from start of Oct to Start of Jan. Anybody carrying on don't complain about the lack of rabbits come next season! Will be back posting as soon as I have anything decent to post about, until then, rather than post total sheeite, i'll keep it shut and get prepared for the end of Sept. All the best to the hunters out there, I'll be in contact throughout the year and as soon as the season kicks off i'll be back. John.
  10. They do get referred to as bonus rabbits Micky, only been getting more than 1 about once every outing this year.
  11. scared i cat Might be a scared i cat Shiney my man but if people can only see pure brilliance in the night they took the dog out and not over a season, or a lifetime, then give it time and when they are sat on there arse looking at the screen wondering why they are not out hunting, and have paid a fortune out in vet bills for there formula one rabbit dog then maybe they may reflect on things. Whippets are awesome. Shame awesome did not have a long term plan for them.
  12. I really want to add to this thread, but experience has taught me over the last few months don't say anything negative about whippets. Carry on everybody and in a few season's time see if you still feel the same way!
  13. I'm a bit soft myself. If a young un had come out I'd be calling time on the season. Used to just wipe animals out years ago, but now i've gone soft and stop at this point. You have a short season to make you're mark, try and do it in that time, if not don't ever complain there are no rabbits to hunt in the future. Nothing against anyone hunting in breeding season if you have the belly for it.
  14. Cornered a rat will show a ferret a few tricks Chalky, but they know running is the key and will do anything for a getaway. Maybee if the old boy watched a couple push a ferret back and run I can see how he thought they might gang up.
  15. Nope they will nail young mice and day old chicks for fun if they get the chance.
  16. Never ever have I seen rats gang up on a ferret. If cornered they will do what they must to escape, but as soon as there is a route out they will go. Even with young ones there. Rats run away, they were born to run away and live for another day. Members of the ferret family on the other hand were born to kill things, if they could not perform the task that nature intended them to do, then they would go hungry and possibly not make it. Thing is we carry on and breed off the one's that don't perform.
  17. Nice effort! And looks like you got a pile in the end! (How's your thumb?) Sometimes you just cannot help yourself at the end of the day and you always do that last warren, even if it's getting late! (Been close to darkness a few times whilst digging!) Think it's the decent weather makes you do it!
  18. Nice one Tyla! The butchers will be screaming for rabbits soon! Dog has to have a little initiative even if it works against you sometimes, there not gun dogs in the end and thinking for themselves something lurchers do!
  19. You got the white stuff as well over there! Whats the broken coated dog tommy? Is it a saluki whipper? Hang on looks like a bit of collie there as well!
  20. Always good to have the young bug's into the sport.
  21. When you say dark do you mean a yellow colour or blackish?
  22. Toby say's he's going to drive after you made him wallk last week! Well in Micky lad, the tough lads are out doing a bit now!
  23. Thats shore stuff by the way. Rod and line boat conger is 133lb and tope is 83lb i think off the top of my suede!
