Thats a fair bag of Bunny's moley. Them Tag ends sure have worked a treat! Its good to see a properly rigged Trammel doing its job, plenty bagging and a pleasure to handle.. Regards..
I must agree I bought nylons off of JbsNets and they are immense quality very well made...wouldnt say the postage was all that fast though....

Can you put a picture up of these immense quality nets?? ..
IMO,, the modern Trammel nets are PISH!!! yeah you can work them no probs by day takeing the odd bolter or two
but lets be honest here Todays Trammels are of inferioure quality... (spelling LOL )
!! Sure they can catch the Daylight Bunny or Two ,,
BUT can there holding power be any different from a Well rigged Tradditional net? Or pre- rigged system! Slack Netting? Mesh Size? AND the main thing Properly Rigged!!!? The Pro Rabbit Catchers will say that the Trammel is an inviable tool due to the smaller Inner Mesh thats set between the Walls which will account for any incoming Rabbit be th
I have got an original youngs net making catalogue and it is like a light peachy buff colour. The mesh size stated in mine for making a long net is for rabbits 2 1/4 knot to knot and 12 meshes wide. Dont forget when this book was written all the materials used where natural fibres.Hemp/Linen etc
Which did not stretch.
.
Well done Ian for takeing the time to Scan this up,, But and But!! the said Firm must have catered for Flemish Giant Rabbits with that mesh Size.... Yes they may have been Big Players at the Time with nets /Traps e.t.c. ,, But then again could there Statement on Mesh Size be a Misprint??? ... IMO ,, The maximum mesh for a Rabbit is 2 1/4" knot to knot (4 1/2" full mesh on the diamond).. Thats if the twine that the nets made from has virtually no stretch to its make up,,, Stretch in Todays modern Twines is somewhat greater in the pasts Twines (outwith natural fibered twines)...
I was sent
The net-lofts the place to buy from,, be it sheet or Hand made nets... The sevice is second to none... One things for sure if you buy from the above You will get what You pay for... I.E. not a net thats been measured roughly! But a Net that has been painstakenly measured mesh by mesh... If for instance you wish to buy a 25yrd net of 100% bagging You will get what it says on the Tin (50yrd's of netting)... Plus You get the added advantage of that You are actually Dealing with a Bloke who kills a Rabbit or Two... Unlike one or Two I could mention....!!!
will have a look on the ferreting section regarding netmaking, at the top of the page under frequently asked questions and answers theres a video by Rabbiteer on netmaking it may well help you out regarding your netmaking career.

This is a Trammel net that i rigged up Today,, nothing special in the hand made department but it it shows in my opinion what a Trammel is all about.... The outer Walls are made of 10" Square Mesh by 3 Meshes Deep,, the inner mesh is 4" full mesh by 15 meshes deep... These days you have your useuall Numpty's I.E. Brinded and jbs(bullshitter nets) Who aint got a clue when it comes to catching Rabbits ,, the above numty's will take your money thats a cert! for a net thats just not up to the job!!!.... This Net has 40" of mesh rigged into the 10" Walls,, Oh and by the way its only 15 meshes deep
Take heed Lads, Mapreader knows His stuff... I had the misfortune a few years back to step out with a so called expert at the netting who also back pegged ( if only i new this at the time i would've stayed at home ).. This Chap ran out all of the nets first then walk all the way back to the first net then peg all the way back to the last net!!! ..
The way he set about things left a bad taste,, the nets werent even linked together...
The word BANT that Mr. Wyman used referes to a long piece of cord which is dragged across the field between two Men towards the set nets,, Up here this all im
Its foolish to skimp on twine whilst making purse nets, but to be honest theres shaped nets and then again theres shaped nets.. Personally i dont see the sense in having say 16 to 20 meshes braided to a ring!! These meshes serve no purpose to the net as these meshes Do Not Open to there desired size ... I have been useing and making nets off all sorts for more years than i care to remember and to be Honest I have never came across any problem regarding Shaped nets (the ones i make) moveing with the Wind.. Last year I made a very well known Rabbit catcher a few nets of 18 meshes deep all the wa
Four Sea Trout, four Mullet & just the one Flattie thank God!!! The net did pick up a lot of debris though!! Ricky's got plenty of cleaning to do!!! ...
Regards..
You can also knitt onto a split ring, this will save cutting the mesh of if useing a purse net ring, or just knitt the first row onto a loop of twine...
Your welcome regarding the Netting On The Hill,, You really need to come and pay Me a visit! P.S. remember and dont take any notice of the BeechWood bullshitter!! He is a Rank Amature who does not know one end of a net from the other!! .. Regards..
Was'nt Simon W pissed of with the Feret Box Co ? Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition imo..As for diamond air holes!! .. Tell im you will see him in court!!
