  1. ok thanks, i can use a shotgun under supervision at my age.
  2. this is a very good gun so i reccomend to anyone who wants to start airgunning: (quote nigel allen) "An Ideal weapon for out in the field, No bits sticking out to catch in the bushes. I have had mine now for just over nine months and the bunnies and rats don't stand a chance, Kill range for me is about 40 yards. Head shots .Very accurate at this range and powerfull enough to put the biggest bunny down. I love the thing."
  3. wow. ok! sounds surprising easy. where do i go to buythe liscence thanks for the quick reply! Aaron/.
  4. this thread is going to be hilarious, i can telll! i was shooting at a taget 25 yars away and i noticed a woodlouse crawling up the brick that i had my arget mounted on, took aim about where i though it woulb be ahead of it i let off the shot without expectingto hit it but i did i was splatterd on it! i have shot coutnless flies iwith a small bb gun pistol, great fun. i am expecting someone too come out with "i shot fly whilst it was in the air" any minute now!
  5. hi all, im 13 and i'm thinking of applying for a shotgun certificate next year. i have googled it but i would the advice of the kowledgealbe people on here just to be sure! so how do i go about doing it? i was thinking o getting a hushpower 20 or 28 gauge or a hushpower .410 as i have used shotguns on clays a few time before and found that these guns suit me best. i know it costs 50 quid for the certificate but how long dose it usually take to get oneand what tests do i have to go through? thanks you very much in advance, Aaron.
  6. any pics mate? what size are the reels? ball bearing? we need a little more info.
  7. if you've hd a sprnger foryears then you'll porbably be wanting a PCP. air arms s200 are good at 350 quid, what im saving up for though is an air arms s400 at about 375 quid. i like the way these guns handle. you could get a s/h s410 for that money as well i think. ATB Aaron
  8. you will get 1 trout for every 20 grayling ou catch on the taff! i took 8 small chub on a dry fly today, now they do scrap hard!
  9. a good place to start is with a springer. have heard the hw95ks and hw97ks are good. alternativley with your price range you could get your nephew a air arms s200 which are fantastic guns to start youngsters on.
  10. i think you take geese out but yo'd nned to have a shot throught the brain.
  11. if youre addicted to big heavy lumps of wood (joke)
  12. i have had a go with a .22 rimmy and rem subsonic rounds were accurate to 50 yards.
  13. out again on the grayling yesterday, had 2 on a olive F-fly as they were taking something olff the surface so i stuck it on. it was a great rise on the first fish i had. it came up nearly veritcally, water was so clear i could see it swimming up and hover beneath my fly and then sipped it in. i struck and a lovely grayling about 9 inches came to ym hand. andother one followed in quick succesion. i had third risen but missed it. the rises stopped after that. i stuck on a hares ear and czech nymph and went above a nice pool. fished the flies down and 2nd cast the rod nearly shot out of my hand
  14. i've bben zapped more than once by a electric fence. nice shooting and good right up.
  15. happy birthday catcher! have a good one!
  16. i'm off my poll addiction and am on a poll recovery course eith scuba. don't get me started again! how accurate isyour s400 as i want to mske sure before i buy.
  17. smk mountsa are crap in my opinion. wont hold a scope on a springer in place for any more than 10 shots and makes zeroing a nightmare. go for JSR or HAWKE scopes for the best quality. nikko stirling is good too. orjust stick with open sights.
  18. bsa lightnng xl is a good gun even if it dose kick a little. IMO it handles well and has got a lovely stock.
  19. he should have killed the rat as soon as he got it out of the hole and not just dangle it there.
