  5. Must be a Houdini mouse .Dormouse would asleep this time of year. It's only a personal thing but I don't like leaving squirrel cage traps set overnight in really freezing weather as the squirrels are not active in the dark anyway and any non-target that may get caught after dusk is going to have a miserable time. well it was not a rat as th ears were large, maybe a fieldmouse? at around 9am the work starts around my gardena nd any squirrels which were around usually bugger off as they are used to associating humabs with dangers (i.e bang, whizz, mate falls to the floor twitching, not fee
  6. thanks guys! think i'll try beeswax, seems a good plan. micky, funnily enough i checked it yesterday morning and it was set off so i looked down the front (it's covered in branches t make it look more inviting?) and there was a little doormous sitting in it. i took off the branches and the doormouse was gone! must have squeezed throught the bars somehow, or maybe its houdini-mouse.
  7. how about a nice natural name? willow nettle ash lilac thistle carrot (my mate has a dog called carrot )
  8. thanks davy this was round three of the HFT extreme mate. the first one was in wendover (somewhere in england?)the second one was in treetops shooting gorund in newport. the fourth one will be at wendover again. they'll do the same thing next year, but you can still go up to quarry for target practice every sunday for a small charge, or become a memeber of the club. everyone was very friendly, unfortuneatly i cant mkae it up there every sunday as im 45 min away/.
  9. nope im afraid is open. junior, .22, spring, everything.
  10. great to see a smile on her face! what a nice chap.
  11. hi all. well i do a proper write up later but all i'll say now was it was a great course with targets up trees, down pipes, between twigs. davy, believe it or not i got 45 exactly (40target course) which i think is pretty good for my first ever major HFT event. the top score was 63 and it was quite a blustery day with wind swirling and moving everywhere in the wooded quarry and pushing over the big open field. my score was equalled by many top £1000 plus hft settups which i was quite proud of with just the plucky S400
  12. hi mate. got any pics, im intrested.
  13. thread exactly the same ages ago. try turning the sliencer a litte, then taking shots, then a little bit more, then take a few shots, and so on until you've turned it all the way roud.
  14. sexy rifle anyways. intresting fact: TDR has been famed for its lightness, even though a s410 carbine is lighter.
  15. thanks, heres the link: http://www.quarryhunters.co.uk/Location.html
  16. anybody going tommorow? spent all day practicing, i think i'm ready. if your intrested in going its at quarry shooting ground in s.wales and is £7 to enter. 40 target hft course from 8-55yrds including one 70yrd should be fun! ATB Aaron.
  17. hi all i awoke this molrning to find all the bait gone out of both my cage traps (peanut buttert + whole peanuts) and a couple of strands of grey fur on the edge of one giving away who did it. but both my traps were frozen stiff and took a hefty puch to set off. how do i combat this so i can leave my traps overnight and they still work in the morning? ATB Aaron.
