  1. All puppies do it to older dogs, i always leave puppies to it and let the older dogs do the corrections. They'll let the pup know when they've had enough, in my mind it also allows a natural pecking order between the dogs to develop, which will hopefully result in happier adult dogs and less hassle for you!
  2. I've just stripped spider out, i do my sisters border twice a year as well. I think its good for the coat and also as mentioned it keeps them cooler in summer. I just use my hands as i find it gets it out more evenly than a knife.
  3. Just think how gutted i would have been if i'd let Ellie keep him at that game fair, thats really when the "gayness" started . . . . . must have been the red coat! We're always here brad and there's always bunnies about, be good to get Dolly out soon. xx
  4. In my expierence most are beaten into submission as well, often resulting in an un sound, head shy, and generally poor animal. 18 months is way to early in my opinion, if it works for travelers thats fine, but most folk wanting a horse, this would not be the best option. I hasten to add this is MY OPINION, made through dealings i've had with ex traveller horses, and a couple of rescue cases. I'm not stating that every traveller beats their horses, just the 1's i've come into contact with have been. yes lass you will get a few people that do that but there are quite a few that will no
  5. If you read my post properly you will have no reason to take it so personally.
  6. Hollie Spider was brought as a pet, his sire worked but i didn't buy him to work. I'm sure Kylo will get interested you just need to give him the chance to see stuff and older dogs working. Did you try him on the flirt stick?

  8. My friend has a great dane, i picked him up once to walk him with mine, as she was out at a wedding all day. . . . . . . she failed to mention that "Frank" didn't like the car . . . . . . honestly it was un real the amount and the stench, both ends. . . . rank! I had to get the car valeted!
  9. Motion sickness is very common in young dogs, but most the time is easy to overcome. I would start by feeding the dog in the back of the car, 2 meals a day, both in the back, no pressure or stress. Do this for 2/3 days, then a further 2/3 days with the engine running. Next start to leave the dog for 5 mins at a time in the back of the car with the engine running, a couple of days of this building up to 10 mins 3/4 times a day. Finally try and make sure the dog can see out of the window, this can help massively with the sickness. 5 min drives somewhere local with a game of ball or h
  10. Attack fell terrier is absolutly right. 1st go to the vets and buy a good quality household flea treatment. Treat the entire house, carpets, curtains, bedding etc. Then treat both the dog and the cats, i'd recommend using the pump frontline rather than the spot on. I've used frontline on all my dogs/cats for years, and can honestly say i have never seen a flea on them. Ticks die very quickly as well. It is fantastic stuff and IMO if used regulary and correctly the best you can get. I buy the largest pump bottle which is normally around the £50 mark and it lasts ages. I genera
  11. I think probably you should be very worried about these threats being a reality. . . . . . . . I'll come and collect Blaine tomorrow and keep him safe up here in suffolk with me. . . . . . . always air on the side of caution!
  12. So sorry to hear such sad news.
  13. Oh trust me spider is dumb most the time . . . . . . . . . . . . . Gay and proud! Kylos balls have just started to drop and my god he is p1ssing me off, he is being such a little git, pushing boundries, ignoring commands and stressing me out, i have just seperated from my partner so i'm not sure if he is picking up on my stress but i really hope he levels out cos he is a bloody nightmare! Would he be between about 7 and 9 months by any chance. Thats about the age they satart to play up for a while. And Beddies are the worse, they are renowned for it. Dont reac
  14. Yeah i think so, and he got a myxy 1 the other day whilst walking. . . . but in fairness my friends bull dog could have caught that! I want to give him a couple of runs on the lamp soon, just keeping it short, sharp, positive trips out whilst he's still young.
  15. Very true, and my god i never imagined it could be this addictive! I keep hugging him tonight, all the work as pups seems worthwhile when they do you proud. . . . . . . . . especially when your out with a doubter!

  17. Took the little man out again today with a friend of mine and his ferrets, we netted a couple of holes at each warren but left most open so spider could get some bolters. He missed the 1st 2 as they ran up the hedgerow, however as if by instinct he then positioned himself inside the hedgerow and managed to turn the the next bunny out onto the open plough, we were in a corner of a field with hedgerows either side, so the bunnies ran across towards the other hedge. Spider soon got into the swing of it and managed 4, i was so so pleased with him as it's only the 3rd time he'd been out and had p
  18. I would keep the pup on the dry kibble the breeder is giving them for a while, going to a new house can be stressful enough without the added worry of a diet change. After a few days when the pup is settled if you decide to change the dry kibble to a brand of your choice then do so buy adding a small amount into the old food, increasing the amount of new food until the pup is eating only the new food. This is best done over a period of 3/5 days. As far as dry kibbles go, i'd recommend Burns mini bites, or James Wellbeloved puppy food. I feed my dogs raw and so any new pups start on thi
  19. I would love one but what i cant get my head round is the cost of the lenses , is there a better camera than the one i have with a good lense & decent shutter speed that i could use , that way i could save for one of the cameras where you change the lenses Most of the DSLR's come with a good lens and 1 which will be adequate for everyday shots. Once you've got used to the camera and homed into the ares of photography which most interest you, you can then buy a specialist lens, if you so wish. Have a look at the Nikon D60 camera bundles from Jessops.
  20. They are going to be pretty puppies too!!
