  1. Hi, i am posting this for the local huntsman, i was at the kennels yesterday and saw the pups, cracking little dogs. Docked and dew clawed with vets paperwork to prove. KG Reg Dam and Sire both working dogs. Micro chipped. Wormed to date. Well socialised with cats, dogs, horses and children. Based in Suffolk. £380 Contact katie on 07795462249
  2. Most puppies at some point around the 10 mths mark, turn into devil dogs! I call it the teenage stage, everything you've taught them they ignore, it is very frustrating! In my mind it's just part of their maturing process, pushing boundaries and challenging dominance. I always tend to go back to basics and get the smelly treats (cut up hot dogs are great!!!) out again and loads of praise, short, exciting training sessions. You'll probably find in the next few weeks she'll go back to being more obedient. Good luck.
  3. Hi, Spider's Sire is a worker and his Dam a pet, however the dam lives very rurally and the breeders don't discourage hunting, so she regulary takes rabbits when out walking. I'm split on the worker/pet thing, i love my dogs to pieces and they live in the house, however i firmly believe dogs should be allowed to do what their instincts guide them to do. Spider is a prime example of instinct taking over, he's always been off lead walking in farm land since 8 weeks and seen game daily, however when i took him out it was amazing to watch him focusing and marking the holes like he'd been doin
  4. Being a Hunt photographer i come across anti's quite often, they've tried to get my camera off me a few times aswell . . . . b*****ds! The bit that always gets me is their double standards, i'm all for diversity and if everyone had the same beliefs the world would be boring. . . . however if you believe that strongly in or against something, then grow a bloody back bone and be proud! They cover their faces and run from my camera if i take their photo, if your only following the law and believe what your doing is right, then why the need to cover your face???? We don't hunt with our face's
  5. I'm already a fan of that group, it gets pretty heated!
  6. The problem is people do pay these prices. A lady who'd daughter goes to school with my niece has just paid £800 for a chiuhana(sp) X !!!!! The breeder had 6 in the litter. . . . . and those that got the pups had been on a waiting list for up to a year! Crazy but unfortunately all the time people are prepared to pay these prices the breeders will continue to breed, with little regard for the welfare of the breeds involved.
  7. Hmmmm it did cross my mind yesterday! The guy i was with said he would let me have a couple, it's just time really, not sure they'd get the work. Also don't know enough to go out with my own ones yet. . . . . annoying though as my house in in 300 acres of farm land which is teaming with rabbits and im aloud to go and do whatever i like! Took the dogs out about an hour ago and loads of bunnies dived into a burrow, spider looked at me like . . . "come on then, get them out!"
  8. Thanks LG, i am lucky and also very grateful for his help and knowledge. I've done him some prints of his dogs as a thank you. Such a great man.
  9. Thank you, i'm really pleased with that last image. Spider just lapped it up, he loved every minute of it, that rabbit hanging up was the 1 he caught, he stayed like that with his nose on it for ages, didn't try and bite it just watched it! Such a funny little dog.
  10. I'd also be more worried by the pedigree KC dog breeds being completely bred to shit and ruined than these crosses.
  11. My Beddy X Whippet pup Spider is just coming up 11 months, he was originally brought as a pet, however after joining this forum and learning more and more about working lurchers i decided i'd like to try him out and see how he takes to it. I've done a lot with him, jump training, retrieve and recall are all good. I did take him out over xmas with Fireman and Nighttime of the forum, however didn't slip him, just let him get out and see what it's all about. A local man i know through my work as a photographer with the local Fox hound pack, asked if i wanted to go out ferreting with him. I
  12. I think purple means your a donator and blue means your admin/mods.
  13. Sounds like the dogs been passed from pillar to post. . . . . . may be the reason it doesn't want to work!
  14. Just a quick tip which i use with all my dogs when puppies, as she gets slightly ahead of you when out walking, try and hide yourself completely from her, sounds stupid i know, but young dogs remember times of panic, when she turns to look for you she will become scared and set off instantly to try and find you, once she's found you make sure you give her lots of praise and treats. Practicing this often will ensure she never leaves it too long before she turns her head to see where you are. None of my dogs when walking leave it longer than a couple of minutes before they turn to look for
  15. Mine sometimes get them too, as long as the dog has a balanced diet it's not a problem. I wouldn't recommend feeding solely tongues. Variety is the spice of life
  16. If the dog is deaf, with patience and lots of training there is no reason you can't teach it all you could a normal dog. I would suggest googling " Training Deaf dogs", should bring up something that will help you. The secret to it is the relationship and bond that you have with the dog, it needs to learn to be looking at you for direction all the time. A friend of mine has trained a deaf border collie up to Crufts level in agility, being a collie helps though as generally the breed has always got 1 eye on you anyway! Good luck.
  17. What lens are you using to get these shots?
  18. Insurance in my eyes is a must. Tesco and M$S are good 1's. Mine are all with NFU, purely because i was already insured with them for my house and car etc. I've never had any problems with them paying out etc, and i've claimed over 3 grand in the last 5 years combined! Don't tell them it's a working dog. . . . lurcher cross.
  19. Thats exactly what i thought too! Look at it's eyes! And it would be totally off balance standing like that.
  20. Lovely photos, the sunset is smashing. Congratulations Fireman, hope your all doing ok.xxx
