Zero In, Tuning In Your Air Rifle Sights Ect....
tomburras replied to foxtails's topic in General Airgun Discussion
It should take 5 mins and a handful of pellets. Bin them and get a better quality scope. -
On the vitara i used lift spacers, strut spacers and camber bolts top and bottom if I remember right. Wasn't expensive about quid DIY but not a proper job.

That's great mark I bet your exited! Are the piston seals leather in them? Nice to hear you kept it original. Are you tempted to fettle it?

I owned and run one daily for 3 years and it never let me down. Very thirsty on petrol tho. It passed 3 mot tests without needing anything. I didnt have to repair snything and the only things on it that cost where when I lifted it and mud tyres. I sold it to my parents severel years ago and they still have it. Its been just as good for them only needing an exhaust and services annually. The bodywork is now rusting but it's still solid. It's great in snow and off road. It goes up steep hills better than my defender but the ground clearance let it down before it was lifted. It was a great littl

Tonight's progress..... I have polished the piston. Started with 800 grit and worked all the way down to 2000 grit then polished with brasso! I put the latch rod into a drill chuck and the drill into a vice with the drill trigger tie wrapped. Spun it fast then gently worked through the glass paper grades then a cloth with brasso on. It is like a mirror!.... I measured before and after polishing it has remained at 25.59mm so no metal removed. Also polished the latch rod and contact point. Iv ordered some parts. A tbt spring guide kit with the short stroke part (I wont

Iv not personally not owned a niteater but a mate had one on his falcon and he loved it. He never had any bother with it was nice and bright when lamping. Iv had a nikko sterling and didn't have any bother with it i only sold it as it was mounted to a gun. Saying that iv had second hand hawke scopes losing zero too. I only buy new ones now and not had bother since.

Nice work again mac that was a suprising trick! -
Over the last few night iv been honing by hand the HW85 cylinder by hand with a 20 bore mop with some fine wet and dry stuck to it. It started off looking like this.... Old dieseled oil and light scuff and scrapes. After an evenings gentle honing.... Iv been doing this for an hour each evening looking down into the cylinder with a torch and honing as needed. Tonight it looks like this.... Pics arnt right clear but thaught I'd try share the progress anyway! Been getting me in trouble with the girlfriend! Edit.... last 2 pics wrong way round. Sorry!

Mk3 Reciever Not Working To Its Full Range

Deben service them, had mine done last year. It didn't take long and wasn't expensive either. -
I been looking online but can't find a Vortek piston seal. Do you know where I can get one?
-
Thank you I will look into them.

Rez I think I'm going to keep it standard. A good debur/polish only to remove its age old minor scrapes caused by filings from its origional spring guide and fit original spring. But with a new standard piston seal and a delrin bottom spring guide. They build an amazing quality gun then cut the spring and then fit shite like that. I cannot understand it. Its like building a quality oak cabinate with a plywood bottom. If I keep it standard apart from a polish and an newer spring guide is it standard? Im only honing away the slight scrapes from the shards of metal the shit sp

Oops sorry Nath it's in bits now. I'm just polishing the piston now. I'll put some pics on when it's back together. I'm thinking of fitting a tbt kit and trying to create a very nice to use classic.

I remember as a kid pumping the cartridges up and loading pointed crossman copper points into the heads and they looked like real bullets. Would love to know what power they where! Also remember wanting a rifle called the brocock predator powered by TAC cartridges. For once I remember airgun mags actually writing a bad review for them tho. Probably the first bad review I ever heared from an airgun magazine.

I have a friend with the scope you baught on a springer and the glass fell out of it I kid you not I have the lenses at work. The hawke mil dot scope is dirt cheap and does the job. For £32 I can't belive what you get offered there. I paid £60 for same scope without ao but with the useless illuminated reticule few weeks ago in a shop.
