  1. The stock has a couple of tiny marks otherwise it is as new! A real sleeper! I'll have a think and update when I start work on it again.
  2. Now illegal they where called a TAC (tandem air cartridge I think) the cartridges where pumped up with a hand pump (called a slim Jim pump) bloody realistic to use and built to the quality of a real gun. My dad had the brocock cobra before they where made illegal.
  3. Never noticed the brown sauce - well spotted I was looking for it the other day lol.
  4. Now to decide what to do next! I'm in no rush. I'm thinking about a dam good polish then maybe a drop in kit? Or should I keep it standard?
  5. After recently buying another old 1987 HW85 and having a play this morning it is shooting within 22 fps variation over 20 shots and has a fair bit of recoil and twang. It is also very graunchy when cocking. Today I took it apart for to look inside and have a think about what to do next. I thaught I'd share my findings incase anyone is interested..... Cut spring Bent spring A very rough chewed up spring guide with a few metal filings come off Piston seal is sold! And loose on the piston like a wobbly tooth. Theres been light graunching between the piston and
  6. Thank you jonnie iv been in touch with tbt and the HW95 kit will fit with a bit of fettling as they called it. I might order a kit and have a play soon.
  7. Cheers Rez! I thought that was the principle behind it. I will look deeper into it and have a think. I'm loving the lock time on the 99 and was trying to have that characteristic on an old HW and have the best of both worlds.
  8. This hw85 is like a smaller hw80. Bloody lovely thing. Smaller and lighter but still built like a tank! It is stamped made in west germany so made before the Berlin Wall was knocked down?
  9. Iv had had all sorts ov ideas going through my head but I am now thinking of keeping it original like mark has with his fwb sport. Would still like to hear more info on short stroking tho I'm interested but can't find much info!
  10. Hi mark I ment hw85 not oops i said wrong gun first! Yes when reading your post on your fwb sport I am considering it! When I hold it and look at it I get a warm feeling as I had a hw85 mk1 in my early teens and used to spend endless hours pinking and hunting with it - the memories came flooding back! I have even been sniffing it ha ha! I might open it up and have a look inside and see if it's a cut spring in it and how the piston seal looks and have a think and consider keeping it original. Iv not had chance to take it out yet but over the chrono it's very consistent.
  11. Awsome mark. You can't beat that nostalgic feeling using an old gun and the memories they bring back.
  12. Hi all I'm looking at doing a strip, polish and fit in a drop in kit on an old hw soon. I was wondering about short stroking it too. Has anyone done or had this done to one of your springers and was it an improvement? Any advice would be apriciated!
  13. Completely agree Phil. But for £32 quid it's a nice purchase for a starter and a big improvement on his current scope. Push the boat out for ao would be even better!
  14. Here's a decent cheap scope...... Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262678460988
  15. Just sat with a glass of wine and watched your new video Rez it was great! Cheers!
  16. Hi mark I'm in same boat as you and after a spring for an old classic too. 10 mins ago I messaged sandwell fieldsports asking after one of their springs and got a reply allready. Maybe worth looking at one of those too? I bet a strip, clean and real good polish then fitting with tbt spring guides with one of their springs would be superb.
  17. If on fac certificate ONLY the rws 52 can do 30 ft lbs no problem. I set it to 12 ft lbs with ox spring and also with the titan spring. The titan was miles better.
  18. Never tried an Ox but, I've heard they can add a lot of power and be difficult to tame. Was nearly 30. The titan one I took a single coil off severel times and seated it. When happy polished it and bingo.
  19. I just done a search and woodfield do a nice looking drop in kit for them too. https://woodfield-gcp.co.uk/?product=welsh-willy-feinwerkbau-sport-service-kit Top guy to deal with too!
