  2. I don't know if your interested in ferreting but in my experience farmers are usually very happy to let you on when you ask if you can ferret their land. Its a great way to prove yourself and a great sport in itself. after a while getting plenty of rabbits and been polite, safe and responsible then ask about using your guns and mention you have insurance and that's worked for me.

  10. Hi all am looking for a bit of advice as iv not had a mk3 and I put a new battery in and I'm just waiting for the collar batteries to arrive. When I turn it on it makes this noise which after looking on YouTube before I bought it, mine sounds very different. Here is a video clip of it making the noise, please click on the PIC. To hear it. Is this normal when there's no batteries in the collars, or have I been conned into buying a broken locator? It also makes the odd noise when its turned off! Does it look likehave I been conned into buying a broken locator?
  11. Awsome can't wait to watch this! Had exact same idea too must my Jill didn't fall pregnant.
  12. Christ that must be tough I wish you the very best wishes finding your new job, its a difficult time but you never know you may end up with a better job.
  13. I'm sure it wasn't but I'm a bit funny when it comes to stuff like that I apologise if I came across badly. Im very sorry to hear that lid I know the feeling I was made redundant lately after 10 years as my workplace closed and its heartbreaking!. Hope it all works you well for you matey!!! Best wishes, tom.
  14. I can totally agree with using sub 12 airguns to shoot into trees providing you have an adequate distance of empty fields as a fallout with permission to shoot on that land also but I'm sure a lot of people starting out look to forums for advice. The advice that a falling pellet will not harm an eye while falling is utterly iresponsible and may encourage young or beginners that this is OK to take risky shots. If you ever have the misfortune of a pellet in the eye (allthough it was a long range ricochet) you would understand and have a different point of view. As a child I had a pellet in the
  15. Although double trigger you can't beat an AYA yoeman you could find one for half your budget and for the price they are unbeatable . There's plenty around with some lovely stocks too. Double trigger is great as you can choose your barrel instantly and I'm sure you would soon get used to them. I love mine, it was my first ever starter gun and over the last 10 years and after going through well over a dozen guns I always keep going back to it. Its all I use now when taking a shotgun out and I wouldn't swap it for the world.
  16. Cheers for that, it was a good read. There's some good videos on them on YouTube too. After this year I plan to make something similar thats wooden, cleanable and reusable so I can clean the pupas and also get some family/friends a bee box started too. I'll try make some cardboard ones like yours this weekend and put them out as they are still buisy and filling tubes like mad! Atb tom.
  17. My 200tdi engine starts without glow plugs even when my 90 is covered in snow, and they don't have egr. Wouldn't worry about smoke on startup either its pretty normal from what if seen. Mine smokes like hell on startup but on the MOT test the emmisions where minimal. I wouldn't worry and just enjoy your landy. The 200tdi is a great engine!
  18. That's awesome archiehood, next year I'm going to make my own tubes and box's - great to watch arnt they! Did you put your own pupas in or did they move in on their own?
  19. Great dytkos it sounds like 4 is a common number to fledge from what I hear. Fingers crossed we get another brood! I'm looking to get a decent camera soon, I was watching a barn owl last night and could have got some great pics. I got one on my phone but its not too clear. Cheers atb tom.
