I took mine to my RFD/gunsmith and he put power up and entered it onto my certificate along with my moderator. This cost £50 for this doing if I remember rightly. Not sure how you would do it yourself but i just wanted to do it like that to play it safe, hope that helps.

Quick update..... A lot more eggs have appeared now.
-
She didn't quite cover them up fully before she went out and now there's 7 eggs.... So she was laying an egg! as now her breathing is normal again and while typing this now she has covered them up properly. She has done this at nearly exactly the same time every night but this time she left them uncovered enough time to see how many there was.
-
It looks as tho she has just laid another egg, must be why she uncovered them, she was laid in the nest head down and panting fast again here's a video clip.... And now she has covered them up again so hopefully she just laid another egg.
-
She has been keeping the eggs well and truly buried in moss and feathers so I haven't been able to see anything as when they aren't buried she is sat on them but she just left the nest 5 mins ago and she left it uncovered... 6 eggs! She is not incubating them yet as she is never in through the day but sits on them at night still covered in moss, maybe this is so she doesn't warwm them up and start incubating them? So they all hatch at the same time? If this is the case then hopefully she will lay a few more. The tree the box is in is a cherry tree and there's plenty of food fo

Have you tried fishing for them at night? My faveroute carp venue is pants through the day, when night falls its another story all together - runs all night. Give it a go and I wouldn't be surprised if you get a few. Tight lines Tom.

Brilliant, there's some trust there feeding a mink with your bare fingers while covered in blood from her food!

In between the last 2 updates she did this (video)..... I'm not sure if this was her laying the second egg as her breathing was fast again, to you knowlagable folk on here does this look like she could be laying an egg? Cheers Tom.
-
She moved a bit again and I was waiting with the camera phone to try and get a pic and it looks like there may be 2 eggs!
-
Finally just seen first sighn of an egg! This morning she was breathing really fast and was a bit concerned as it was very fast and thought something was wrong. She left the box and didn't return until bout 20:30 but left her nest a mess so presumably she had laid it and then covered the egg with moss. Just 5 mins ago she stood out of the nest cup and I caught a glimpse of 1 egg so very happy as it looks like there should be chicks to see soon!

Recomended River Flys And Tactics
tomburras replied to tomburras's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Well I couldn't wait for the river fly fishing holiday so I went into the garage and dusted off the fly tackle, there was a few fly's with it so I headed to a spot iv not been to in years. When we where kids we played in these woods are rode our bikes and that was the last time I went but I thaught i remembered seeing trout rise in the beck that went through the woods but could not be sure. Actually I wasn't sure if there was anything in it at all lol. Here is some pics of the beck: It is very small with the odd knee deep pool, when I started tackling up I began to doubt my s -
Just an update in case anyone is still interested, they have continued building the nest and its getting quite high and close to the camera now, thank god they have stopped filling the box and started lining it now or else it would have been too close. Here is a PIC of the nest so far: The camera must be getting pretty close, here is a video of her checking the camera out lol. And a clip of her lining the nest, she is using dog hair and feathers from what I can see: I think its the female only that's building the nest and the male drops the odd bit of material in fro

That is disgusting, I will be utterly gobsmacked if he doesn't get his front door smashed in and arrested for all these crimes. I cannot understand why you would shoot songbirds - seeing and hearing theese is all part of the enjoyment of been outdoors shooting or whatever your doing. He is just a thick cruel idiot who should locked up and then be deported if he is an immigrant. I hope he gets investigated and justice served.

Cheers guys I'll order some of these too as a back up. Would you reccomend wet fly's for a river learner? I'm dying to catch on a dry but if I have to try a more productive method I will. Don't want to blank this time lol. -

Thank you j Darcy I'll order the fly's you mention. Last year I went to Wales and fished the river seiont with dry flies, there was trout rising all over it and I still managed to blank lol. I was using mayfly, grey duster and black knat, my presentation must have not been right. Is 3lbs line OK? I was on 5.5lbs last time so maybe this put them off. I'll get a pair of waders before I go this time as it was hard having the fast shallows near me and presenting my fly to where they where rising without the line near me been pulled by the flow. Can you fish a dry fly with a wet fly dropper? Ma
