    Red Kites

There spreading well, its good to see :-) Spoted one around here over the last 4 or 5 months, so hope they settle in. Also seen that ring neck parakets are making there way to this area too (Guilford surrey) There common where I grew up, sunbury, I wonder how long till they cover the entire Island.
  2. Sure there shyte, and annoying when they derail a good thread, but we do read them, and I myself oftern have a good laugh at the drivel spouted. So perhaps, instead of deleting, or locking them, which just moves the argument to another thread, derailing that, perhaps it would be a good idea to creat a sub forum called something like "The thunder dome" or "Bitch fest" Some where right down the bottom of the forum list, and just move the inane driveling argument threads there. It might help keep the hunting sub forums less cluttered, and give the attention monkeys some where to ca
  3. Nice looking bitch. One easy way to resize pictures is in ms "paint" its in start/all programes/accessories/paint if you right click your picture, you have the option to open in "paint" as well. You then goto the top and click image/ stretch:skew and change the properties of the image there . If you change both % to 50, it will be half the size.
  4. I enjoy it, but use a mountain bike, which I love to get out on anyway, pre dogs.
  5. Best fox dog I've seen was a 3/4 saluki 1/4 greyhound But I havent seen that many dogs run, this dog did the job very well though :-)

  8. I use the standard blitz, and am very happy with it. Others preffer other lamps, but I've found after using the blitz for a year, all other lamps seem rubbish.
  9. Rock climbing, mountain biking, orchid hunting, breeding chickens, sea fishing, and a few more
  10. I found these poles to be real crap, so i hope no one bought any I've edited the thread to warn anyone with (edited to add, that these poles were crap, and one rabbit snapped a pole all on its own ) and today, another 3 snapped, but that was from longnetting my dog  So back to the drawing board on them, maybe bamboo this time, though the ones I saw from magnum on another blokes longnet, certainly looked the dogs danggerlies. So, god forbid, i might invest in those

    Bird Nesting

I had a collection I was proud of :-) Maybe 15 to 20 species, mainly garden birds, but my fav was a lapwing egg I had gotten all the way up in scotland, when being a drivers mate to my dad during the school holidays. Same trip I saw my first golden eagle, and whales out at sea.
  12. Bit of a distance from me, but if your ever in surrey, your welcome to join me ferreting, out most sundays in the season.
  13. Took me a long time to work out what a moter was, at first I was thinking it was the leader of the netto crew.
  14. Looks a very handy bit of kit, what did you pay for it ? Very well made, and safe looking, dog injury wise.
  15. Thanks for the advice so far. Not worried about the dogs around children, as theyve all been raised with them, and well socialised. Just need the space indoors. Thinking of just using it during the day, when not out with them. Then allowing free rein at night, as there main job of secruity will be hampered by a kennel. So I'm thinking about 8 hours a day.
  16. I recon most prob do, all the ones I've been out with have, so I think its just the odd bad, or new owner, that could suffer this problem As most of the ones I've known are very loyal. But in saying all this, I've only been out with 4
  17. sounds an interessting mix, would also like to see some pics, also if pos, of the sire and dam.
  18. I have got to move my 2 larger dogs into kennels, in the yard, one german shepard X rotti 6 years old, and one lurcher 2.5 years old. Now they've spent there entire lives indoors, on the couch, so its not going to be a nice thing to do. But I have twins on the way in January, so it's a job that has to be done. I want to keep them kenneled together, is that a good idea ? I want to make the transition smooth, and not cause them to become jealouse of the twins, as a direct result of this change in their life's What I'm looking for is advice from others who have done t
  19. What side of london ? Theres a few about. One I know in whitton high street is quite good, but theres a lot more http://www.moreuk.com/search.php?cat_id=75...:1|2|58|26698|0
  20. Recently I have been doing it a bit different. I've been taking a whole cleaned rabbit, boiling it in salty water for 30mins Take it out the water, and strip all the meat from the bone by hand It comes away easy, this way, in nice strips of meat. Then use the meat in a stew, and cook in with the veg and stock for an hour or so. Much more tender, and saves the hassel of deboning a raw rabbit.
  21. Possibly, probably longer ago though. The European polecat is a wide ranging species, and genetically so close to the domestic ferret, that that is suspected to be the animal from which it was origanly domesticated. The first, were prob in spain, which is well within the European polecats range.
  22. gnipper, and extra hole to make it tigther than the existing holes, as I have a very small jill, who slips the collar on the lowest setting, but no trouble since the extra hole was added. I like the idea of a velcro one, makes a lota sense. It would also keep the excess collar bit in tight, as that annoyes me, the sticking up bit, snagging the nets.
  23. Ferrets were bred from wild polecats, so really, if you ferret, its a good job man did not leave them well alone.
