  3. Scats country stores, I think there only in the soth of england though. Light weight, strong, with a little flex, nice flat top for pushing in and a good spike. I've yet to have many rabbits hit one, to see how well the poles hold up, but that should change this weekend
  4. Just wanted to show you how I made some cheap 30 meter quick sets As some one said yesterday that they thought they might mess it up if they tried, so I just want to show how easy, and cheap it is to do it yourself. So too start with you need some sheet netting. Here I'm using 6z 2" mesh, 15 meshes deep, and 200 yards long -£20 Some 8n nylon cord 132 meter reel - £11 (edited to add, that these poles were crap, and one rabbit snapped a pole all on its own ) Some electric fencing pole with 2 or the connectors cut off, and 2, the top, and bottom left on -70p each
  5. Both are usefull. Though now i have long nets, the purse nets get a lot less use.
  6. dont worry mate, I'm def keeping the double knits I got off you Stork, sack the p&p thanks for the offer mate, but me work will cover that without even knowing I just wanted to pass them on to a good home, plenty helped me out, when I started, so just repaying that.
  7. Storks brother can have em, as he was in first, sorry those who replyed and those who pmed me, but he won by a few mins. Stork, pm me an address and I'll get them in the post to your brother mate.
  8. Just going through me nets, and have 35 purse nets, mainly 4z nylon, some 6z nylon, and some early home made red cotton. Have caught in this with no problems, but have since knitted a few hundred hemp nets, so these just dont get used now. I would like to give them to a youngster, starting out, or really anyone starting out I will pay postage in the UK , but i'm in surrey, so local would likely get them. anyone interessted, let me know.
  9. Mine get white crap after a lamb rib cage, at theres more dugesterbal bone there, and less meat.
  10. S.E is fishing well after this recent blow up.
  11. I belive that if you try to call the dog off, then your defense is stronger. Which is ok with mine, as he can not be called off anything he is chasing Only problem is, shouting a lot can attract more attention, that you might not of got without shouting. Depends really if theres actually some one about.
  12. Mine eat trout a lot, which is fresh water, and codling, mackerel and poulting, which are salt water fish, with no worries. These are feed as part of a mixed diet, say once a week. Makes a change from rabbit or bird.
  13. I thought it was quite common with dogs with collie in ? Isnt it called a tear eye ?
  14. Yeah, its a bitch on plough, the plogh smacks up the flint, and this leaves it sharp. Dogs feet do tougthen to it, but for now, clean and rest.
  15. You went to hampshire All cuts need cleaning, warm salt water is a goodun. big deep cuts need work, if you dont know how, its a vet job. Watch what the vet does, and learn it. Smaller cuts need strapping up, after cleaning, those stupid dog shoes from most pet shops help, to stop the dog pulling of the bandaging you use as strapping, also good tape, like electrical tape helps, over the bandaging. Then rest till healed. good luck with thatm flints a right c**t
  16. 100 yards makes 50 yard net, so hopefully when you get the netting, there is a bit of string holding it together at top and bottom, get 2 50 yard lengths of top and bottom line. Just thick nylon cord, then tie this to the string holding the net together, and pull it through. then stretch it out, and pull the net all the way to the end, then pace out 5 paces, and mark by dropping a pole there you then have to set the bagging. This I did by having the excess netting at one end, then walking 5 paces holding it, to a the tast pole, taking 5 paces back, and puling it to the next
  17. My dog blue, I use him mainly to keep my feet warm.
  18. Why the recent trend for tiny pictures ? good going that dog.
  19. So yeah, you get caught, you get nicked. Don't get caught
  20. Can I take a dog on a Public Right of Way? Yes, a dog is considered a 'usual accompaniment' of a person on foot. Nonetheless this entitlement is confined to the line of the path and only exists whilst the dog is accompanied by its owner/ keeper. A trespass would be committed against the landowner if the dog is allowed to run off the definitive line of the path or if the owner/keeper stands at a gate and allows their dog to run free. Must a dog be kept on a lead whilst on a Right of Way? The law does not rule that a dog be kept on a lead whilst accompanied on a Public Right of Way. Howe
