  2. went ferreting saturday where i saw a few rabbits whilst longnetting the other night.i met nottzhunter about 8ish with all the gear which we split between us and carried on with the 20 min bike ride.the first hedgerow we netted was about 10 holes but not long after entering the ferret the landowner came over.As we hadnt got permission he was abit annoyed with us poaching his land but needed someone to get rid of his rabbits and we were soon given permission and he showed us some warrens he wanted us to tackle.there was plenty of damage around his farm and we soon got to work on a huge warren b
  3. it cost £1 per dog georgia for round here and my dogs get a seat aswell as im paying for them.i dont understand why we have to pay for them to go on the bus but not for the train.i will be catching the bus within the next hour with fly. good hunting rew

  7. its getting a little better had a wee walk with fly just down playing fields yesterday morning and it felt far better ,but been getting myself in the gym every other day ,havent missed a days swimming for about a week now and pampering myself using the health suit after so starting to feel some relief.thats a good number of rabbits but i know i wouldnt want to be carrying that weight around, anyway good luck to use still left in the comp.you been tracking lately with bruce and hows that pup of yours coming on? good hunting rew
  8. i shall try and get down your way sometime soon when i fetch my bike if you fancy a little mooch your way witton.i would plan a ferreting trip for this sat but as your lamping friday i guess it will be tiring doing both.so we could have a day flushing my ends sunday if you fancy it and save ferreting that place possibly for next weekend when bran is free .let us know how you get on friday you two, im going to try and have a stroll in a couple of hours. inabizzle you got a new mobile number witton. good hunting rew

  10. alright lads.. sounds like you had a good night out bran and georgia good luck next time .keep getting kye out ,not hunting just let him start learning and using his head bran i know your keen so that shouldnt be a problem but keep it fun and games matey ,hes a nice little dog and i know how important it is for your first dog to make the grade .i was out same night longnetting up that way saw plenty of rabbits out ,literally crawling with rabbits and there was alot of rabbit damage to the garden on one of the farms i cut through next to it so going to try for permission.will try ferreting i
  11. thanks ferret110 ,thats them tomo my dad saw one for a pound but didnt get it me but im gonna look the business wearing one of those lol abit different from the rude boi hats i normally wear but myt get a trend going rocking a deerstalker nearly look as chavy as that burbery wax of yours lol.well dads out tonight lamping,i have had to stay in because my stupid leg but wind is up so he could have a decent night. good hunting rew
  12. ellir i think the quickset i have cost me £120 from jbsnets mate and the hat i got a few year back now probabley from a dog show but im after one the gamekeeper sort dont know what there called . Rolfe i have two 50yrd 4z traditional long nets im going to start using ,will probabley make things abit easier when travelling that distance when im on my bike.yes tomo your right i will pick better conditions next time if i dont decide to take dog out instead lol.yes mate i can see it being addictive.all the best good hunting rew
  13. Decided to have a go at longnetting last night ,weather conditions were poor not very windy and light due to the moon but i couldnt resist going out.Only used the 50yrd quickset as i needed to travel light becuase i had a good half hour bike ride ,which was still very uncomfortable with the basket digging into my back.i stashed my bike behind a hedge on a country lane and walked into the field next to it where i saw plenty of rabbits already on the move.i dropepd the net out 4 times and only managed two rabbits, one which i could see not tangle up the first time he hit the net but but gave it a
  14. my dads the same wont put his hand down again ,muggins here has to do it. heres dads hand after being bit last season good size one aswell ,next to my size 10 foot good hunting rew
  15. we never really trained them to hold the rabbits ,im sure it can be done but they would mouth the rabbit in the net but they started to do it less after we had told them NO,i dont know what they will be like now as they havent worked with the nets for about a year now.well im out tonight with the longnets but the dog staying at home ,got a few small orders for rabbits so it will be nice to have between 10 and 15 from a few drops.hopefully will have a thread up tomorrow . good hunting rew
  16. my lurcher (fly) is predominantly whippet x greyhound with a pinch of collie and deerhound.flys only done a little bit of work with the nets during daytime last season ,but she learns reasonably quick so i can see there being problems at first but hopefully she will click on.today i have just knitted one 20ft hemp and spun nylon gate net and a 10ft ish heavy spun nylon square meshed gate net just using up some old materials.so hopefully will start getting some use out of these, got a few small bridges hares regularly use so shall give it a go. good hunting rew
  17. i honestly dont think there will be a problem getting a lurcher to work to the long net or gate net during the day aswell as at night.if you get that dog out regulary working with the nets i believe they will start to work around or with you and will soon pick it up what is required.if you can gain a partnership between you and your dog theres alot of things you can do imo it will require alot of experiance though.was out myself the other night with no lamp just letting my dog work the fields ,she had a couple of runs and if i had a few gate nets set i think we would have had dinner in our bag
  18. Thanks georgia that bitch of yours is a corker aswell, keep up the good work . thank you Tomo you have helped me see what she is capable of by getting me out with you on some of your land and it is much appreciated mate. that bitch of yours was some stunning animal and it looks and sounds like she was some dog in the field aswell .i can remember you putting a couple pics up of her when i asked about grews a few year back and it was probabley just the looks of her that made me want to get one.hopefully when i can start getting out again we shall have another run out before the season ends.
  19. i dont think you can go wrong with a well bred whippet greyhound ,i have only heard good things about the cross so a couple year back me and my dad got a pup each which were nearly whippet greyhound but had a very small percentage of collie and deerhound in there.my little bitch (fly) caught her first rabbit at 16 weeks by luck and we were lucky enough to catch it on video.ever since both pups have turned into great dogs.we really couldnt ask for better ,both are like missiles and are like most grews up and at there game very quick and both are exciting to watch run even if they dont catch an
  20. that sounds like the same problem we are talking about ,where the disc has slipped and like you say made the passage smaller and the nerve rubbs against the disc and the nerve becomes inflamed causing the pain.i think i will try the injection again and if theres still no change consider having the op.has anyone used chiropractice? rew
  21. yes otc mines down the left side aswell starting in the lower back down into my leg into my heel.sitting can be really painfull, aswell as lieing in bed and i often finally fall asleep around 5am .it is really pissing me off not getting out with the dogs and doing stuff i enjoy .was chucked off my joinery course because of it and tuck loads of shit whilst doing my apprenticeship course because i was struggling to carry timber.im only 18 now god help me in a few years time. rew
  22. i have been suffering from sciatica for over 3 years now with a constant pain everyday ,but having some good days .i would just like to see if anyone else has suffered from this and how they treated it,if they did?i have used physiotherapy ,s1 nerve root injection and many differant pain killers but still no change.i realy dont know wat else to do except have surgery? thanks rew

  25. first of all i will just like to thank Tomo for judging the heat and like always a cracking guy to talk to.me and my dad had a really good night ,great lamping conditions and plenty of action and it was a good laugh but it was a pity time just flew.both dogs did ever so well even with the recent injurys they have had just lately ,hardly missing any but bruce really looked like he was on form, great turn of speed and being able to turn with it ,good strike and nice retrieve.nice meeting you LDR , a sound bloke and i wish you the very best in your next heat aswell as tomo.the best dog on the nigh
