Cant argue with the plus points.....but do they outweigh the negatives,im not so sure..... Communities have broken down,personal relationships no longer have the same value,as a nation we have lost our identity and discipline,youngsters have different values etc etc..... I guess its a pint glass half full or half empty situation.....personally i like the simple things in life hence i prefer the less complicated times of years ago....but theres no denying some things have improved

Its very rare i disagree with you AFT as you speak sense.....on this occasion i cant agree with you.I wouldnt say im bitter or miserable as i enjoy life and accept that times change.......but few things have changed for the better,and personally i do think it was great back then. I think each generation believes their days were the best days i understand that.....but i fail to see what is better in todays times that outweigh yesterdays.Thats not bitter and miserable thats just being honest.But i guess it depends on the individual.

Got away with a 5.5 million fine and massive payout to Sheff Utd ....if that prick Warnock gets away with this after the moaning he did back then it will be a farce !.....The FA said that would never happen again and put in a 10 - 15 point deduction rather than a financial penalty....lets hope QPR will still be in with a shout of a play off place Its also worth remembering the West Ham/Tevez thing was for around 10 games.....QPR have done it for the whole season !

Yes but what exactly is it they are doing to " sort it out " ? making childlike videos on youtube standing around shouting surrounded by the safety of policemen As a naive idiot years ago listening to a few demented pals i had at the time i got tied up with the Combat18 thing....didnt take me long to work out what a bunch of bollocks it was,but at least they did physically do something and didnt stand around talking !.....if this EDL thing is seen in todays times as " actively sorting it out "....then stone me do we have problems !

Fantastic documentary...thanks very much Johnnyboy 68 for putting it on here... 2 things stuck in my mind.....firstly how for a man so talented he still sounds so grateful for the life he has had,constantly saying " im such a lucky lad "......and secondly,it makes you think just how great he would be in todays game with perfect pitches,the ball they use today etc.....he could strike a ball so crisply and cleanly,something very few midfielders in the game can do today... I read somewhere the actual cost to the tax payer is around 61 pence per person per year....thats just over 1 pence per person per week.... If your going to snivel and whinge about 1 pence a week maybe its you who needs to get a job ! Nice looking couple,good luck to them both. -
Have a go at what ? How is covering your face and talking like a 13 year old standing up to be counted ? So if your son got in with the wrong crowd and ended up tagging along with an older lad to a shitty rundown farm to nick a few bits you wouldnt have a problem with him being shot and killed for it....because thats what happened. I dont think Messi would ever come to the premiership....he wouldnt get half the time on the ball and would get kicked from pillar to post....just imagine the likes of Stoke and Bolton trying to deal with him i dont think he would be anywhere near the player he is....Real Madrid got what was coming because they didnt try to win the football match when they was at home,and you can only blame their manager for that.

Birmingham course he was thats right,there was some decent welterweights back then it was pretty competetive between London and the Midlands there was Honeyghan,Sylvester Mittee who was out of West Ham,all the Mckenzie lot from South London....then there was Hibbert,Joey Mack,Cliff Gilpin....then of course Kirkland Laing was up the road....Cliff Gilpin was a good fighter lived near the Wolves ground,had Honeyghan on his arse at the Albert Hall once. None of them set the world alight but it was a good time they all fought each other pretty much....Joe Singleton was a scouser if i remember righ
