In all fairness,it sums up the difference in the quality of the 2 sports.....the fact out of shape ex boxers like Mercer/Toney can walk into mma fights at top level........that would never be allowed the other way round,and rightly so.

Must admit i dont know all of the names listed there......but im surprised to see Freeman/Mir on that list.....i was at that show if i remember right it was the first ufc in London....didnt Freeman win in the first round....Mir was in piss poor shape i remember....It was the show where the black English lad i forget his name now got the 10 second knockout win....Matt Hughes/thingybob Newton was a much better fight on the same night. Certainly agree with the first one though Griffin and Bonner.

You have said some silly things,but thats probably the silliest. In this country we have a proud tradition in amateur boxing....my father was lucky enough to win an aba title,3 years later he won a British Title and was one of the best prospects in Britain of the time. He always maintained the biggest achievement of his career was winning the aba title

Im not a big believer in that saying its been proved wrong too many times....styles make fights not size....Tyson had a great style for that era of plodders....big guys of todays like the Klitchskos with their movement and athleticsm would have troubled Tyson. Haye just thought the wrong kind of fight....I believe he has the power to knock out any heavyweight....but if he,s not willing to take a risk to get in the position to do so he must fight competetively every round to win every round..... he did neither of those things.

Just out of interest.....what order would you Scots put the top 5 or so managers in order of greatness,out of i suppose..... 1.Stein 2.Ferguson 3.Shankly 4.Busby 5.Smith Cant think who else would fit into a top 5 but by all means add your own

Witherspoon was bigger but they were better fighters than Frank,simple as that.....In that era 6 foot 4 was regarded as huge,today its average.....the thing is today as well these big 6 foot 7 plus guys are good athletes as well whereas many of the ,s big guys were like tellytubbies !

Frank was a good boxer,was very dedicated and hit very hard..........he just wasnt a fighter in his heart. Only at the highest level was that ever exposed......but it was there.

I dont really know about all that.....i first heard about him around 95/96 at a guess he was getting a bit of a reputation round south east london i think he was off the estates in plumstead or thamesmead that area anyway.......there was always plenty of private do,s back then probably still is now i dont know..........it was only when i saw him on a few ufc shows years later that i remembered the name.....then that robbery was talk of the town obviously.

Your just being silly mate....Freddie Roach doesnt NEED Amir Khan.....Amire Khan needs him ! Women putting up a better fight than a world champion boxer Think he will go nowhere He,s British Champion so is already somewhere !! If your comparing these young lads to all time ring greats then fair enough.....but sometimes you just gotta keep it realistic......Khan is at the very highest level of his sport,and Fury is on his way there....what more do you want.

No...Andy Lee fights out of the Kronk Gym in Detroit with Manny Steward......and he wont ask you how you want the pedigree written out when he sells you a dog either Ive never understood this thing of " hats off to him for having the bottle to get in the ring " .......thats what fighters do,it comes natural..................................its the things that dont come natural that require bottle !

Personally i dont think Lee Murray would have been technically good enough at the very highest level of the sport....he was an extremely violent man with a fearsome reputation locally and earned good money fighting before he had ever stepped into a cage or ring.....I remember seeing him fight as a kid maybe 16/17 against grown men with good fighting backgrounds it was probably comparable to watching Beckham play football as a kid or watching Elton John play the piano......it was obvious even to the untrained eye that this was a kid that fighting came very natural to. It was certainly not a peak Judah granted.....but i think Khan deserves a lot of credit for his performance last night he is starting to look like a class act,he still makes mistakes that a good boxer will exploit but he improves with every fight which is all you can ask.....his sheer work rate is going to make him hard to beat,similar to Calzaghe he simply outworks better boxers than himself. As for the " low blow ".....Judah quit,plain and simple.....not nice to see from a professional fighter.

Just out of interest....over the past few months Manny Steward has gone on record as saying Tyson Fury at his age now is better than either Klitchsko,s were at the same age. Also........Freddie Roach has gone on record as saying Amir Khan is better at his age now than Manny Paquiao was at the same age Theres no point comparing young kids just starting out in the game to accomplished world champion veterans of the sport. Tyson Fury is a promising talent nothing more nothing less......at anything but heavyweight he wouldnt be a talent,but the heavyweight division throws up far different

Most lads at 30 years old given the choice will sit looking at 4 walls for 10 years at 2 mill per year tax free Work your jacobs off for 50 years for a bungalow on the coast....or look at 4 walls for 10 years for insane wealth at 40. Around 3am i believe mate.... Got a sneaky feeling Khan will come unstuck....all depends what Judahs got left really but he certainly looks in good nick and if Khans looking passed him at a future Mayweather fight it could all end in tears.....plus Judahs a lefty.

Some right heartless c**ts on here.....either that or you,s have led immaculate squeeky clean lives...... I detest junkies as much as anyone else but i accept folk go through rough times,having wealth is a dangerous thing when you have an addiction ! Apart from the fact shes a singer i dont know a lot about her......but i feel for her family and wouldnt wish that on anyone.......guess im not quite as tough as some of the pricks on here saying the death of a talented young English girl is a good thing !

To give the kid Fury his dues he,s better than i thought.....certainly not a tidy or technically good boxer and doesnt punch his weight.......but seems to be a kid with limited talent and ability but willing to make up for it with pure effort and determination....and i admire that. He has a good attitude to the game,can take a decent shot and has a decent engine......at his age,and the sheer awkwardness of him sizewise with a good trainer who knows how far he might go.....In todays times a heavyweight just doesnt need to be an accomplished technically gifted fighter...... Fury needs to cut

Not sure " characters " is the right word but Attack Fell Terrier,Malt,Gonetoearth,Tomo,Stabs,Wilf,Arctic....and probably a few more...are all certainly folk whos posts i look out for. Cant be doing with all the silly nonsense topics that get turned into a bumfest it was funny after the first 2 but 10,000 later its somewhat boring.
