Not quite sure why your being a dick to me....but if id have wanted to,i would have by now mate
-
Totally agree.......if the fella didnt breed the dog then its no shame on him it didnt turn out....the only shame on him is talking up an unproven dog which is a completely different thing to the excitable anticipation of bringing on a young dog. The nature of genetics dictates that some dogs are going to be poor examples regardless of how you raise em all you can do is your best if it dont work out get rid and start again.......thats what makes raising pups for work a hard thing sometimes but thats life and without honesty you have nothing.
-
Bloody disgusting if you ask me.....supposed to be indoors every night paying his debt to society and instead he,s out with his mates getting legless

Its those exact styles that make me believe just how far short Tyson would have fell against those fighters........obviously size is an issue when comparing to fighters of the past and you just have to be sensible.....for me a 14 stone Marciano would have totally overwhelmed a 14 stone Tyson....as an example.....but as you say it makes for interesting talking points.

In the gym where was you

Ive always felt Liston/Tyson would have been a great match up,as would Tyson against Shavers or Lyle etc...though i dont think he,d have beaten any of them....Louis would have made him look stupid,Walcott would have broken him up inside,Frazier would have had him on the back foot which Tyson just couldnt fight from,Holmes would have battered him,he wouldnt have been able to get round Foremans jab,Dempsey would have been too tenacious for him.....Jack Johnson and Ali would have played with him for as long or as little as they wanted....the list go,s on and on............Marciano was a far super

I remember that fight well Stig Sibson just never got into the fight he was the stronger man and harder puncher but Hagler stayed on the outside and picked him off with ease......i seem to remember there had been a freak snowstorm in Massachusets that year and Sibson couldnt get out of his room for the week before the fight......thats as good excuse as any Hope he,s doing well these days he,s from my time and was always well respected down these parts.....i still dont think he beat our Mark Kaylor but as they say...." he got the decision "

I wasnt around in the 40,s and 50,s either whats that got to do with anything......best fighters that ever lived.....means best fighters that ever lived, and they were your words. Tyson was the best for a couple of years during probably the worst era of heavyweight boxing in history.....make all the excuses for him you like when 2 top notch heavyweights came along he was beaten easily by both of them.......In any other era than the one he fought in Tyson would possibly not have won a world title at all.....he didnt hit anywhere near as hard as Earnie Shavers and he never won a world title.

I was originally replying to the above Marshman.......i think you came in after..............nice to hear your thoughts anyway chief

The thing is people are attracted to colourful characters.....Tyson was a colourful character,so was Aaron Pryor and Whittaker.......but i bet apart from Alexis Arguello you couldnt even name another opponent Aaron Pryor ever fought without looking them up ?............Being a colourful character dont make you a great fighter,.....Aaron Pryor couldnt be mentioned in the same breath as Zale/Graziano before him or Mayweather/Paquiao today.......but we still remember his name.....we remember he was a coke head in and out of prison and his famous pointing of the glove before fights,he had a catchy

You keep makng comparsons to footballers ...footballs a team sport, without 10 other players George Best would never have a European Cup medal.....wthout 10 others Pele would never have won the World Cup......Pele could have played badly and still been a world cup winner ! Thats what puts sports like boxing apart from others theres no room for bad performances or excuses its just you in there and if you dont perform for whatever reason its no excuse......as George Foreman once said after the Ali loss...." give me any excuse you want,my shoes were too tight,it was just him and me in there he
-
No its not......Tyson was the younger man in his fight with Lewis.........being " washed up " or " mentally weak " has never been an excuse for greatness in sport with anyone apart from Mike Tyson !.......Why people refuse to look at the facts when judging Tysons boxing career i dont know, thats the trouble when the general public delve into an athletes private life it clouds their judgement of the person as a mere athlete......like i said before the ,s were an impressionable time for British boxing fans and he fitted the bill just perfect.
-
Im not going to get into the Tyson debate......save to say at the wbc annual convention a few years back a poll had been running in the lead up to it what the boxing writers/journo,s/pundits etc thought the all time top 10 heavyweights were in order......the results were announced with Tyson not making the top 10,which i totally agree with. Witherspoon/Haye your probably right but then the only ,s heavyweight id put in all time top 10 is Holmes and the point was about the ,s producing the best fighters of all time......no way.

Seems a bit daft to me.....ok not many people will take a dog out of a rescue for working purposes but in the event someone did they cant know the breeding to their own dog ............" we want you to want the dog not its breeding ".........how can anyone know a dog by a 10 minute visit.....most people decide on a breed then get to know the dog not get to know the dog then find out its breed...........all seems a bit arse upwards to me,but then in my opinion if it wasnt for the soft society we live in there wouldnt be a need for dog rescue centres at all, certainly not as many as there is any

Would you also fancy Witherspoon/Tate/Tubbs against either a Klitchsko/ Lewis since or a Ron Lyle/Earnie Shavers before ?....i know i wouldnt.......you would fancy Spinks over Hopkins or Roy Jones ......your opinion and your entitled to it we all see fights different...........I liked them Spinks/Qawi/Muhammed fights but i accept Spinks was the shining light in a poor division and every fight he had at heavyweight was badly handpicked......Totally agree about Hagler, like i said those 4 ( Hagler Hearns Leonard Duran ) were the only true greats to come out the ,s hence it wasnt as great decade
-
Thats a complete myth !..........apart from the Hagler/Leonard/Duran/Hearns series who else from the ,s could go down as an all time great of their division ?......maybe Benitez or Chavez at a push........for the higher weight divisions above middleweight it was probably the poorest era for the sport ever.......look at the heavyweight division, apart from Holmes at the start of the decade and Tyson towards the end it was filled with the awful era of Witherspoon/Tubbs/Tate/Weaver swapping the titles around for 1 fight at a time....at the lower weights you had Sanchez,Benitez,Chavez.....fair enou

Cheeky f****r.....id bet my bollocks my hammers would beat Rangers/Celtic 7 out of every 10 times they played them at the moment....and the other 3 would be draws That said im just about to leave for the trip up the m1 for Notts Forest away .......come on you Irons !!
-
Thanks very much ....its the basic technical jargon and what it all means i want to get to grips with......i guess like anything else practise will give improvements......but it helps if you first know what why and where.....cheers.

Not your traditional brekkie but a damn fine combination.... In this order bottom to top....Toast,Layer of ham,Fried Egg,Beans,Melted Cheese.... Plum Tomato,s and Beans on the same plate....thats just wrong

I brought up eye witness what ,you lost me a bit there chief..... Well if Walcotts stepfather was a famous fighter im sure it wouldnt be too difficult to look it up,but i wont spoil your fun your clearly dying to tell us .....but off the top of my head no i dont know who it was. Edited to say.....apparently there was a boxing poll done some years ago and Marciano/Walcott was voted the greatest ever knockout......not sure id agree as he simply beat him to the punch, but still some punch.
-
Thats it.....i took 250 pictures and a grand total of 5 are average/good........most are either blurry, too dark, too far away or i plain missed .....could anyone recommend a simple to use but good quality camera ?....preferably that will fit in your pocket and not one with them massive great lenses..........im not after professional pictures, just decent quality and easy to use.
-
Hearns/Duran is certainly up there with the best but for me the 2 greatest ko,s both involved Jersey Joe Walcott......number 1 would be his ko of Ezzard Charles ( to this day the best single punch ive ever seen ) and number 2 would be when he was ko,d by Marciano........ Being partial to a bodyshot id also put Tysons ko of Spinks up there, and also Roy Jones ko of Virgil Hill.
-
Anyone know of a website or book available that will teach the basics of cameras and photography ? Ive just come back off a very interesting trip where i took a load of pics only to see they have all come out like a 7 year old took them !.....I often look at the pics on this site some of yous lads take, well you cant all be professionals.........where can i learn in a simple to understand, not too technical way,how to take a decent picture ?

Just about sums up these idiots understanding of competition and proving truth. Been sent a few videos of these dogs........ ...in my opinion there only use would be in a curry !
