Dennis did go up to cruiserweight late on in his career....he was one of the funniest characters i ever met,also one of the gamest !.....He came over to England from Guyana as a kid we actually grew up less than a mile from each other without ever meeting till we was in our 20,s he never knew for sure how old he was he used to say he knew he wasnt any more than 3 years out He was a good man Dennis what he lacked in skills he certainly made up for with sheer strength and will to win after he got battered by Tommy Hearns he asked Manny Steward to train him.....Manny respected the guts he had sh

World class IMO means you are have sufficient skills to compete against the top 10 of your division. People like Casius Clay weren't just world class they were GREATS so using them to compare what a world class fighter should be is unfair IMO. You can only be measured along those who're fighting in your time, to judge whether you're world class. Haye and Chisora are both bonafide world class fighters. Haye has already been champion so for someone to say that he isn't world class is a bit ridiculous IMO. Bang on.....explained much better than my divvy brain could explain it

Brookie i enjoy reading your posts ive never once slated Fury i forget now if he,s your brother cousin or what the relationship is but the fact i havent slated him isnt out of politeness its because i understand the times we live in hence i know Fury has a good chance of being a world class fighter....it wouldnt surprise me one bit if he picked up a world title somewhere along the line.....does that make him a great fighter of course it doesnt but what it would make him is a world class fighter in this era..... No thats absolutely right you cannot compare eras......and for that reason theres no point saying fighters like Chisora,Haye,Fury etc are not world class because they are in todays times.....in yesterdays they wouldnt of been but we dont live in yesterdays era we live in todays. Life dont work like that mate theres plenty of things id like to do but the law says i cant......you either accept that or take whatever penalty comes your way........where i live im constantly having horsey folk crawling along a public road that im paying to be on i dont even slow down for them anymore and im a respectful well mannered chap...........................just because they,re having a race dont change nothing f**k off somewhere else if they want to play silly buggers on a public road,and if they dont want to do that accept what comes with it.

So name a world class heavyweight in todays era apart from the Klitchkos then ????? This is the world we live in so you have to base " world class " on whoevers out there..............would Haye have been a world champion in the 60,s no of course he wouldnt......saying that the likes of Price,Chisora,Fury would probably not even have been pro boxers in the 60,s.......................the era we are in is the weakest its ever been hence names like Price/Fury/Chisora can mix it at world level. Why do you not think a fighter who is a world champion is world class then ..........as far as im concerned any fighter who is in the top 10 is world class thats the whole point of having ratings,if theres only 1 world class fighter in the world we dont really have a sport !

Yes but go 50 miles west into places like Brooklyn and Yonkers and those doors will have iron grills over them ...same as anywhere theres safe places and complete toilets i travelled a fair bit of America as a younger man even " nice places " on the west coat are riddled with crime places like Oakland California some beautiful places but you cant change the people living there i wouldnt want to live among them,Detroit makes Brixton look quite pleasant ! .....Look at Miami,gorgeous.....but used to have the highest rate of violent crime in America,dont know if it still has.......Tuscon,Phoenix

Absolutely.........whether you class him as Brit or Canadian dont make much difference we ( Britain ) have still had more success at heavyweight than any other country in the world outside America. Might not be the greatest names of the division but they won a title and thats more than any other country so to say we,re not blessed is plain wrong. Lewis Fitzimmons Bruno Haye Hide Akinwande All won a world title at heavyweight.....think the next best is probably a country like Italy who had Carnera,Damiani,someone else i forget who....... Personally i dont mock any of the combat sports as i know the discipline and dedication it takes to compete.........but " compete " is the key word for me.......i respect the competition but the other bollocks blue belt black belt grand master this and that kicking apples out of trees is a complete farce and a reflection on how brainwashed some folk can be.....im sure its all very pretty and a whole lot of fun....but its not competetive,and without competetiveness and a will to win you dont have a fight.

Nobody can help the era they are born into,so if you have fought for a world title you are world class thats just common sense,the fact you are best of a bad bunch means nothing...........this is the world we live in and there aint no other world but this one !

Thats right,i knew the name from somewhere......I was with Steve Murray in the early part of his career i think that must of been his 5th or 6th pro fight.....if i remember right Coleman was the first fighter to take Steve the distance......nothing wrong with journeyman fighters its an honest living.

Frank Warren is the only one with the bollocks to front out the British Boxing Board of Control.......and good on him.....they f****d up by not just banning Chisora,by taking his licence away indefinately they are taking away a mans living who has no other way to earn....by rights he could go and sign on the dole !!......... Haye could apply for a licence but they wouldnt give it so the potential biggest fight in Britain cant happen in Britain..............id normally back the bbboc on most things but they got this all wrong.

Better as in Price and Fury are at the start of their career and who nows if they will ever be world level.....................Haye and Chisora have proven they are world level already.

Marks been living out in California since his career ended his mrs is a yank he,s a very family orientated fella just does a normal job teaching aerobics and general fitness......still keeps himself in great shape looks like he could still go 10 rounds now !!........his mrs is the brains and the main dough earner .....Christie i wouldnt have a clue.
