I dont think he lost it mentally at all.....it was quite calculated in fact....like Tyson did with Holyfield it was just a cowardly way of getting out of a fight you know you cant win.

Id like to see Fitzgerald in with Teddy Cheeseman i think that would be a cracking little dust up....messy,but a good fight.

What a smashing fight that was i totally underestimated Fitzgerald i think ive only seen him fight once and having seen Fowler fight a number of times i thought it would be straightforward for him but Fitzgerald fought the perfect fight he was nice and compact all the way through,kept stepping off the line and making Fowler miss and reset.....i dont know if he has weight issues Fowler but he looked dead at the weight to me but that doesnt detract from Fitzgeralds performance it was a really good fight with the correct outcome.....seems a nice lad as well i hope he go,s far.

Its amazing how Sunderland can pitch up with 70,000 fans at Wembley but can only get 30,000 at home games......theres a saying for that but it escapes me.

Only in the seniors Bill...the kids still wear them....my theory with headguards has always been that the danger is not that its a bigger target but you tend to get over confident about taking punches,instead of riding every punch you see coming you sometimes allow yourself to get hit knowing it wont have an effect,hence you take more shots.

Thats fantastic news for lower league football....its the only way the 3k strong crowds of Accrington,Fleetwood,Wycombe and the like are ever going to mix it with the worlds footballing elite.
