  1. , aye mate, shape wise he's gonna be easy on the eye, temperment wise, his tail carriage says it all, i always take pups to that little stream, just to see how they'll react , some will gurn for ages before taking the plunge but he just ploughed on through, he's a sensible pup as well, clean in the house and quiet at night, all in all i'm well pleased with him, cheers mate.
  2. best of gear mate, this time of year is great for getting a load of it free.
  3. sound advice from all. a good tip is to get your panacur paste from horse suppliers for a fraction of the price you'll pay for their dog stuff.
  4. Sound SJ, he's strutting about the house like a banty cock, he met the ferrets and whippets today and even though the whippet pups ( 6 months old) were a bit rough on him, he took it all in his stride, with not a peep out of him and tail over the back the whole time. be interesting to see what size he makes as he looks tiny but maybe thats because its been a while since i've kept a terrier. didn't take him long to settle in. well pleased. David, he'll earn his keep mate, good luck with your own.
  5. looking great SJ, some napper on him, all being well, i'll be over saturday 13th, looking forward to getting my hands on him, much appreciate you letting me have him. al the best Lawrence.
  6. nice type of a wee dog, good luck getting it sorted.
  7. all white breeds have a tendency to have bad eyes and ears, but they can crop up any where , a mate bred a litter of whippets a while back with a pure white pup that was deaf, theres a wee snap of him, rest of litter had been call out to feed, lucky enough a single auld boy took him on and they were inseperable

  9. i had 26 pounder that took a few , always had them pinned by the throat by the time i got there, only time he a badly bit was when another dog prevented him getting his usual hold. as Robert says most whippets outweight a fox by at least 10 pounds so it should be no surprise they take the odd one, that said whippets are no different other running dogs types, some will, some won't.
  10. try different bedding, i had a bull which would soil his straw bedding but is clean on shredding newspaper, who knows what go through their minds.
  11. i wouldn't over do the road work at that age, a few mile a day would do, don't neglect the free running, make yourself a flirtpole, your whippet will love it and its probably one of the best conditioning tools there is.
  12. is the deaf and blind pup white ? may have nothing to do with being merle.
  13. why would a whippet be any more prone to injury that any other type of dog running on rough ground ? don't think i've ever seen a whippet with bad feet. you'll not be disappointed with a decently bred whippet.
  14. have a butchers on here mate, good luck with your pup http://blackwhippet.**"£$%^&*(101.com/index.cgi
  15. sound you got your bitches mate, best of luck with them.
  16. whats the general age to start them off ?
  17. thanks for replys, thought it would be ok but does no harm to check, Bolio is kindly throwing me two jills coming this weekend , they'll be well fed on a mixture of muscle, offal and fish, looking forward to them as its been around 10 years since i last kept any.
  18. i realise this has probably been done to dead but since its been so long from i've kept ferrets, i just wanted to confirm this was all right. i feed my dogs on a good barf diet and assumed the same grub would do for the ferrets ? i have to admit i don't like the idea of feeding meal at all. thanks
  19. i could be wrong but i don't think anyones does it in the uk . let us know if you find a supplier.
  20. tell you mate to make sure he picks the pup up in person and to make sure the pup is well socialized as a few and i stress a few, of matt's pups have been known to have behavioral problems which i believe are down to a lack of socialization.
