Best advice i can give is follow local hunt show a genuine interest in the terriermans dogs, keep going regular and you might be lucky and get to help out on a dig i have no interest in horses just terriers and hounds you will meet many like minded people and it will lead to many a good day out once you have earned their trust ,all the best and good luck. -

Hello simon cabinets you can get a three gun cabinet for about a hundred pound brand new cheaper second hand off ebay but once postage is added you might as well get brand new . Guns baikal are cheap and cheerful and very reliable over and unders also rizzinis' 410 might be a good gun to get especially if you have a rat problem . When the fire arms officer comes round if you get your cabinet in advance make sure it is out of the way against an external wall secured by 10m raw bolts and be honest about any previous convictions you might have no matter how old they are as they all count good l

Nicely explained all the abbreviations can be confusing WMR HMR LR ect, but when broken down like you have SS it does not sound too daunting i am going for FAC myself in the new year as a bit of land i have is proving too difficult to rid of pests with just terriers ferrets and shotguns and all the info is greatly appreciated. Even though i did not start the thread i would have asked these questions sooner or later well done to all the replys, experience is good when you can share it.

Hi mate i have got a hushpower 12 guage and it is very quiet providing you use subsonic cartridges as quiet as a spring on a air rifle is a good comparison.

Hi Al had a Shar Pei for over ten years probably the most territorial dog i have owned if you are a stranger to the house you just dont f**k with them fantastic dog though will never forget him got a patterdale bitch now she is coming on nicely.

Just bought myself an investarm single barrel 12 guage hushpower used with hushpower subsonics i can describe as loud as a spring on an air rifle brilliant gun it surprised me how quiet it is not a great pic off of a phone.

My mates family organize shoots and i cant believe what they charge and what people are quite happy too pay what absolute nonsense ( the prices) i feel lucky being able to mooch on permission and shoot what pops up.

After you send off your money and form it can take up to six weeks for the firearms officer to contact you for a meeting to check you out and see your cabinet if he is happy you get your certificate in a matter of days.

Definetley check out the rear floor for rot i had a 300 tdi auto awesome offroad but in hindsight i would not get a auto again it was as slow as a boat. Got myself an old SJ410 suzuki now goes anywhere credit crunch 4x4ing .

I agree with the slow approach took my 13 month old patterdale bitch on a few digs lately she entered after a bit of encouragement and run the holes but we put an experienced dog in and he soon had the game in a very tight spot on one dig,i think the more you put in the more you get out mixed with good breeding you should not go wrong .
