  1. should of got that up earlier i would of snached your hand off.
  2. i guess its just personel points of view, but id expect my terriers to use rats as a starting point with hope that when their ready to move onto biggr quarry, which makes rats easier to take, in my opinion, ive never used plummers but weve had cracking rat numbers with russels , patts and lakies, which were all earth dogs fair comment. however i have a little experience of coloured terriers and plummers working rats and still disagree. . based only on the terriers ive worked or seen work of course.

  5. like i said stormy. a good example of the breed is hard to better. there are bucket loads of poor examples of all breeds working.. ive seen a few black terriers that have put in poor shifts below ground, but i still think they are the dog that sets the pace for working below ground all terriers should be able to deal with rats. but plummers must be bred to do the job better. and deal with them in style. otherwise they have no reason to exist
  6. well i will have to disagree with most of the posts on here. ive seen and worked some very fine terriers. but ive yet to see a breed that can better a GOOD. ratting plummer.as far as i am concerned the plummer sets the benchmark for ratting. (please note the word in caps .
  7. most that know a little. know that killing in numbers can often be very easy. but to hunt find and nail one problem pest. can be a very difficult task for man and dog. be it rat /fox or whatever. . as an example in a waste station. with thousands of rats its not hard to hit three figures. but put the same team in a block of flats looking for a single rat and it will be very different story

  12. i had a staffy cross in the eighties. i loved that dog. but he was an absolute nightmare. if it moved he wanted to kill it. dogs /cats/ anything that he could wrap his jaw around. he was also very protective and tended to over guard. . ended up i had to collect my mail at the post office and put a metal box behind the door for my mail. the most loyal dog ive ever seen . irish staff. is just a name that decsribes scatter bred bull breeds. english bulls where common crosses with staffies. as was other irish game dogs. same as the name jack russell covers many terrier types. and crosses. th

  17. There's never been a truer word written "Fireman", they are all clinging on like sh*t to a blanket, atb, WM and if they get thrown off the blanket. or fall off of there own acord there will be more to take there place. same story in all breeds. its a power game. fcuk all to do wiith dogs or money. its down to ego's. and nothing new. any money generated is a by product used to further there careers. its just as bad if not worse in the murky world of working dogs. fake and forged peds. name dropping man and canine. its a none story so far as i'm concerned. anyone genuinely in working dogs fo
