  1. yes to borrow the bitch line it with your dog(all going well) rear the pups and then return the bitch to its owner. in the same condition you got her.
  2. dont seems to be the winner . easiest option then. buy in. . thanks for the input
  3. fcuk me there are some sharp witted individuals on here . morton i am old school and try to be honest and upsanding. i expect the same i am toying with trying to take a pup from my old lurcher. but to be honest i think i will buy in. and i dont want to go down the road of buying a brood and moving it on once i'm done with it. i also dont want to put him out to stud. lol. so the most painless option will be to buy in i reckon . thanks for the replies
  4. this is the main worry. you can do your upmost to care for the bitch and still something unfortunate could happen.
  5. breeding terms whats your opinions folks. as i have been considering this. pros and cons. cheers
  6. What are folks thoughts on loaning a bitch on breeding terms. its something ive been thinking about . good or bad. what is your thoughts on this subject
  7. if you fear useing the quitter does it not show that there is a lack of confidence in the generations of carefull breeding. i would have to use my quitter and test the offspring. if only to convince myself i was on the right track.
  8. fell/russell/beagle/bull... . are some folk trying to reinvent the wheel.
  9. the pup in the pic is stunning, my bad.
  10. your right there, lot of knowledge in that book..Good old boy Eddie i'll third that, a lot of good old fashioned common sense in this book
  11. the way i read it. both dogs would have the potential to throw good stock. whats to say the quitter isnt geared to throw better workers
  12. agricultural shed builder. long hours heavy work in some of the most stunning area's of scotland. with very little downtime to enjoy your suroundings. its like having a fag and no matches . you end up with more permision than the royal family with no time to work it.
  13. i bred a litter of lakie cross greyhounds have posted about it before. its fair to say they never turned out like i wanted. and i regret not using my little beddy whippet over the greyhound if you want a whirrier. the beddy or wheaten or bull cross whippets set the benchmark. jmo
  14. why in fcucks name would anyone need a bigger more powerfull dog than the bullcross. in the uk. to big and bulky for anything around me thats for sure. lovely dogs but anyone sensible will question the need for monsters of this size in fieldsports. sledgehammer to squash a fly springs to mind
  15. NICE.....love the old 35. what kind of value would you put on that.?
  16. training and entering the jack russell terrier. would be ideal for a young un.
  17. had two over the years. both big strong dogs. both decent workers
  18. and on topic. lurcher pups. in same paper. wheaten /whippet. sire. (thought mine was a one off lol.) dam greyhound collie bull. 150.
  19. CMW. this week. lurcher pups. bull greyhound/salukigreyhound x greyhound. breeding is in the advert. £130. sounds like an ideal cross for what you want.
  20. ive wasted half my life with drink/drugs/and dirty women. squandered every penny ive earned. untill i met a good women now things are good. got a loving family and she squanders my money for me. do i regret any of it. to fcukin right i do i always wanted to live in a log cabin in the mountains with a pack of dogs and a bowie knife
  21. a shame that. havnt read your new stuff. but i enjoyed your youthfull shoot from the hip style of old.
  22. Did think about a cocker, however I want a dog to take ratting too. surely I can get a terrier that wont go to ground and just rats. all terriers that will exell at ratting - bushing are liable to go to ground. its sods law .
  23. 5 dogs and 20 brood bitches ?,would we all be having a fit if this advert was on this site nowadays ?I put this post on over a week ago and no one replied. A lad in the classifieds is selling pups from his hunt terriers and is getting crucified for it. i think that says more about the terrier scene today to be fair. and the WWW. everything is black or white on here no shades of grey. if folk hav'nt got there nose in someones business they have it up someones arse lol. f**k all wrong with selling well bred well reared working stock. , the best stock came from working lads selling NUTTAL
  24. its hard to set a height on it. i just like the smaller more compact type. around twelve inch and compact and spannable a lot of the smaller terriers tend to have big chests . defeats the purpose really.
  25. somethings never change lol. thought i saw you in the crowd
