  1. Based on what? The chaps been there and seen for himself. We get fed an anti propaganda view, he goes and looks.
  2. All have to start somewhere but all the training in the world aren't going to give someone the bollocks when the shit hits the fan. Having said that, a little bit of knowledge will usually get people through the average street scuffle so giving kids a bit of knowledge isn't a bad idea Ps last pic. That's a boy year older than her she's putting down.

  4. The decrying of others such as the chap getting the leopard film and the naturalist youtuber mentioned earlier in this thread is undignified but the name calling is simply childish, even if the questions and ascertains of posters cause some cognitive dissonance surely a grown man can have some small measure of composure. I find it difficult to give credence to a person who's not even able to discuss a subject without such rather sad schoolboy outbursts. i can only suggest a look in the mirror to judge your age then an attempt to act accordingly.
  5. Indeed but what we do have is a leopard on Zanzibar which demonstrates that getting proof of the existence of a big cat isn't so difficult. It would be good if it were a native subspecies.
  6. They've caught the dog hunting puma LA’s most famous mountain lion, P-22, captured after attacking dogs in the Hollywood Hills | Los Angeles | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Well-known cougar was tranquilized by officials in the back yard of a Los Feliz home after showing signs of distress
  7. By the grace of god go all of us from earlier generations, in the 60's and 70's its a wonder we made it to adulthood. I can have no idea what the parents must feel and the if only's going through their heads.
  8. Mackenzie Thorpe was born in Sutton Bridge in 1908 died 1976. His father, Mackenzey Thorpe, was a Romany and his mother was from Sutton Bridge. He was one of eight children. He left school at twelve and worked on farms. He began poaching at a young age and collected a string of minor convictions. At seventeen, he joined the crew of The Alert, an inshore cargo boat and spent nearly a year at sea. Back in Sutton Bridge, he took up boxing and became heavyweight champion of Lincolnshire. He married his wife, Cicely, by court license and they had six children. He met Peter Scott in 1928, whilst
  9. Re the film, from the footage I for one wouldn't call him a liar, looks to be a leopard. Plus we have prior plausibility in that they are native to the islands. if we had verified footage from the UK I'd be excited to think we had at least one big cat. The island is about the size of Dartmoor and Exmoor combined, although heavily forested unlike the moors, yet people can walk in and get footage in two weeks with basic camera traps, not fuzzy images of indiscernible black creature or distance film of cattus domesticus. Yet in 50 years we can't get a single image from Dartmoor or Exmoor in
  10. Ah but have you taken tiger shark? or at least cat fish?????
  11. Sardines the super bait!!!! At last, the missing ingredient, I’m sure we can excuse Greyman and his colleagues for a few days as they will be noted by their absence whilst they tour their camera traps loaded tins of John West. If it took just two weeks for an extinct leopard most certainly, we will be inundated with films of the Exmoor beast, Dartmoor tigers and the lock ness monster within days…
  12. Don't think the poor Fecker ever came back to hospital ? was pure fear in his eyes ?
  13. Feck did I, some poor dead fecker on the bed behind me still warm, just to macabre for me. Couple of weeks later i started one morning on early's after she'd been on nights and youngish patient said to me " that nurse on last night she's a bit "friendly" isn't she", with a look of mild horror in his eyes, at that point i had to have a chat with the manager and she left shortly after.... nought stranger than folk.
  14. I met a cougar once, I was not long qualified and had sort guidance with preparing a body for "Rose Cottage", a nurse of indeterminate years offered me assistance but once finished as i squeezed past her in an attempt to leave the side room she pounced upon me?. As you can imagine I was taken somewhat aback, one with how quickly she could move her hands as i attempted to defend myself, like an octopus? but more so that there was a dead body in the room with us? Definitely a dangerous and unpredictable creature...........................
  15. The game and the dogs, what more could one ask for?
  16. You be careful with that, they'll be a sharp shooter turning up any minute swearing he saw its ears twitching......?
  17. Trails are key, cats, like most predators use trails to travel from area to area, the route of least resistance, so putting cameras out in the middle of nowhere will get nothing but on a track or trail, if they are there they will come. if you look around the world this is exactly what they do and do so successfully. So if you put a camera trap on the path by Paulus's Freelander you'll be spot on. ?
  18. Big cat hybrids are pretty much unknown in the wild, you need prolonged proximity as well as lack of alternative and in the wild different species tend to avoid proximity to other species to the extent of hybridising. Isolated populations of pumas and jaguars in the Americas, Tiger and Lions in India, Lions and leopards in Africa etc all avoid hybridising to the point of local extinction. The only place it happens is in the extremely artificial setting of zoos. Cat Experts: Ligers and Other Designer Hybrids Pointless and Unethical WWW.NATIONALGEOGRAPHIC.COM
