I had a rayburn in the kitchen for hot water so didn't connect the woodburner into the hot water system, although I have no doubt it could have been done. Had solar panels on the roof for hot water in the summer and an immersion heater in the hot water tank for when the solar heating didn't work. As for wood use, it depends on who is filling it up. Was much more economical if I was putting the logs in, rather than ex wife or the kids. Mine is a multi fuel one so can use coal if I want to.

I think we were right in thinking she took a knock when she fell over trying to take that 3rd rabbit. I will let her take things easy for the next 2 or 3 days, just in case, but she seems ok now. Hopefully Willow will be sound for next week, although with the rain we have had tonight we might be better getting water wings for the lurchers and snorkels for the terriers!!

Tried twice in the past because I would have liked a pup from her. Both times (different dogs) she set about them. First time the dog just took it, second dog fought back, had a bit of a job to get them apart. Spoke to her breeder to see if she had any bright ideas, she had a litter of pups out of my bitches half sister so just got one of them instead.

They are all bitches except the big red dog right at the back. The one on the right is small but couldn't say exactly, she's herdwick's bitch, sure he'll put her height up 12 1/2 inches

Thanks Westy. Its sods law. After 30 years of being over run with rabbits and having pure-bred collies (although they did pretty well in the rabbit catching stakes!) I go out and get my ideal lurcher.....and all the rabbits disappear! Having said that, she does what I want her to do, thats as much as anyone can ask!

Spoke to the landowner this morning. He put a couple of feeders out because he likes to see "the odd pheasant" about! Told him what we had flushed and offered to act as beaters for him. He said he would talk to the boys and get back to me.
