  1. I have three generations of my own lines, but I only breed when I want to keep pups back, this boy is joining my picking up team.
  2. Meet my new boy Charles he's been bred and worked by a local keeper who sadly has had to rehome due to been made redundant hes third generation of his lines that go back to brocklebank, boltonabbey, drakeshead and pocklea once hes had his health tests he will be up for stud
  3. I was always taught labradors heel first spaniel heel last, as in teach the spaniel heeling once everything else is spot on, i did this with my little cocker and worked well, you might find he never heels as well as a lab but will stay close, at 9months dont push him to hard let him be a puppy and keep any training light and short
  4. personally I would put it with the most friendliest happiest dog you have
  5. just sit in the kennle, let him come to you, take some warm sausage and just take it slow, if you rush it hes noting going to get better, he needs time, if im really honest he needs a trained hand find someone who has dealt with shy/nervous dogs, they can be turned around but its hard going and not a quick fix

  7. Remmie - 9years old Very nice.........not keen on a collar on a working Lab but fit looking dog all the same........ Collar is only on when were out walking, when were out picking up I just use slip leads
  8. fauna, Flora, bracken, bailey, molly, berry, remmie, mag, my new terrier pup is Evie, and two lab bitchs im keeping back from next litter will be fauna and flora
  9. I would say shes not ready is the bitch standing - if shes ready she will be like a rock with her tail lifted to one side, the day shes ready is dependent on the bitch, could be day 14 could be day 20, my old choc lab isnt ready to mate till shes almost out of season! Just keep trying!

I need to get out but the rain is stopping play, not with us been a fair weather shooter, but the rabbits just dont venture out as much, Hoping to get out this weekend if the weather holds, I sell my rabbits to snake owners they give me £1 a rabbit no matter what size! I also freeze some for my dogs and alwasy pop a couple of head shots to fill freezer for me great pic! with the added bonus of the charlie!

We do work, alot slate us but how many of them just expected us to wave a magic wand and for beating and picking up to appear, I have one shoot in North Yorks wanting picker ups and game cart driver, there's shoots in Wiltshire, east Yorkshire, Canterbury, north Essex asking for beaters and picker ups and more coming in every week, if anyone wants to speak to us in person about any concerns I personally will be at quiet a few game fairs (I was at Selby and Yorkshire Game Fair) with our next one been CLA pop along and have a chat! we are also working with pass it on to get kids into the c

  15. chocs shouldn't be put to yellows it weakens the colour and produces them horrible really light chocs with light noses, choc should be put to either chocs (full choc litter) or black carrying choc (black and choc mixed litter) or if just black it would be a full black litter. If the yellow dog carried choc you would get black and chocs *if* they was no black in the yellow dogs line or chocs line you would get full cho but again would be them fugly chocs

  17. I used my hand to call this one in- shot on Saturday evening just before dark squeaked it in from 70 yards to 50yards! just trotted up in the long grass. its all down to practice
  18. mine get it when I get a deer they get the bones, liver, heart, kidneys I wouldnt feed regular, unless you were going full BARF diet then add other meats, chickens, eggs and vegs to the diet
  19. have you got any side profile pics of that type of dog? presume that's what you've got? yup heres a few past and present this was my old boy he was 12 in this picture sadly lost him a few months later and some others
  20. I do if they were digging dogs but there not there ratting dogs I dont want big stocky dogs they wont get in were there needed! and thanks the pups are doing great and my pup from last year is enjoying all the extra ratting shes getting without her mum!
  21. its down to lines you find dogs with Drakeshead in are more lean atheltic types
  22. there used to be a guy on River cottage he sold meat birds day old chicks 80p each inc delivery to your day we, had two lots of him and been grass/corn fed weighed 6lb at 12 weeks!! he was based in Norfolk not sure if hes still on there
