My eldest kid just failed vet-med,three years study down the swanee,its a brain-fryer,they deserve every penny they earn,there is sooo much course work to cram and even after graduating they still study,its never ending,I have a mate who is one of the few western vets in Hong Kong and he is minted but its all hard earned.

Yes ant,the bottle is the chamber,that's what made me think it was some weird PCP when I first saw it,its incredibly powerful for something so simple,there's a place over here called danao which is renown for very cheap handguns all made in backyard workshops,I have sat in sheds in the khyber region watching guys churn out a wide range of weaponry using very little machinery but incredible amounts of skill,needs must I guess.

Went to visit a friend in my old neighbourhood,wet sunday afternoon so we went to watch the roosters,they have torn the old cock-pit down and rebuilt a brand new aircon one beside it,50,000 pesos for the fastest kill work the prize out at 70 peso to the pound,the LCD unit on the wall gave the speed of the fastest kill at 12 seconds.

I didn't even know there was owt wrong with him Tomo,I haven't been on here for ages but Simo was always one of the sites characters,I haven't seen any posts from him so I did a search and found out he has sadly suffered bad health,hope he gets back to full strength in 2015.

the bigger fruit bats like flying fox etc which roost in trees are hunted for food so its uncommon to see a massive roost locally but theres any number of so called micro-bat roosts around.

Got some of the pics from my camera,I was going to go tonight to see if there were any snakes at the entrance but theres rain,this affects the bats emergence,they dont come out like a swirling choreographed vortex but scatter willy-nilly.

At the moment mate sitting on powder white sand under a palm tree drinking ice cold coke from a bottle and contemplating life,its dark and warm water is lapping at the shore,southern mindanao,cotabato province,one of my kids took some good footage of the bats,if he uploads to youtube i will stick it up,I never went into the caves as the first thing they do when spooked and flitting around is empty their bladders,i went in one once and came out stinking of ammonia piss

Just went to a bat roost as dusk was setting,didn't stay too long as the mozzies were coming in squadrons,the heat coming from the entrances was 2,000,000 bats packed closer than sardines,I went at dusk to see if any pythons or monitors were feeding but i was a bit early as all i saw were a number of rats,I took a shedload of pics with my camera at different entrances,i will try and get them off the camera sometime this week,I saw a few dead bats on the ground covered in cockroaches and assorted creepy-crawlies...

No Qb,i am in south mindanao,I will get some pics,the guy has also made a 12 bore shotgun but got rid of it due to the cost of cartridges,the word jolen means marble in the local dialect.

I was snorkelling earlier,came out of the water to dry off and started chatting to an old guy sitting under the coconut-trees,he was hunting with what I took to be an airgun,maybe a home-made PCP,but its not a PCP it works on combustion from an electric-spark from one of those spark-lighters for a gas cooker igniting paint-thinner or stripper,it fires marbles,the little glass things we played with as kids. I worked it out,it cost him 3-4 quid to build,weighs around a kilo,and is powerful enough to kill a person,he uses it to shoot bats,cats,stray dogs,all are eaten,necessity is the mother of

Excellent result,whats his degree in mate?My eldest flunked his vet-med course third year,the amount of study was incredible,he was gutted but bounced straight back and got onto a different course,the youngest was offered sports scholarships by 3 different unis but never took them up and is studying medicine,I think your boy has the right idea with australia and is doing you proud,he seems like the sort of guy who will make things happen.

Yeah,the worlds biggest Rousette fruit bat colony is a couple of miles away from here,its in the guinness book of records 1.8-2 million bats,I have visited it quite a few times and its nothing unusual to see pythons lurking around,christmas day in the jungle for you mik?

Roast-pig,seriously the smell makes me vomit,we are spending christmas day on talikud island snorkelling,but the kids have bought two suckling pigs to spit roast
