    Being out at night on the sea,theres something about a dark expanse of water,nothingness,no light pollution around you and the taste of salt spray on your lips,a strong cup of tea at that time tastes like manna from heaven,your senses seem accentuated.

    I had a session during the summer with 2 other guys,we fished overnight on a very productive river,got a ridiculous number of trout,returned most but we also got a large number of grayling,I kept 2 decent sized ones back for the table,underrated fish.

    Just got home,been out on a friends water fishing,few rainbow but also got a brownie of maybe 4lb?Starlight float and bread/maggots not exactly lures but productive nonetheless

    I was locked up once(mistaken identity)on the continent,in a sweltering stinking cell for four day,blue rubberised matress and woolen blanket,I was absolutely stinking,got out and paid a few euros in a hostel for a hot shower,absolute heaven,I still remember the scent of lemon shower-gel and the feel of a fluffy clean towel

    Theres just been a copper an ex-Inspector,in Melton Mowbray,Sacked last week for various improprieties within the force,just killed his wife and a 6 year old daughter in a frenzied attack then took his own life,also injured another two children.

    Had brownies up to maybe a pound on small mepps,under-rated lures to be honest,maybe because they are the cheapest of the cheap but they have stood the test of time.

    Some are just trying to cash in on the novelty of it at the moment,throwing a few baits into the water to see if they get a bite,better off just sitting back,relaxing,and waiting for the dust to settle,it also depends how many are released onto the market now the original run has sold out,if it fetched £200 a book my kids would be going on a round the world cruise instead of Hong Kong Disney.

    A scottish friend of mine served 5 years in a brazilian nick,in a cell with other inmates,quite an experience,he also has a very distinctive scar on his face from Thailand,a bar-girl glassed him for some minor insult of whatever.

    Bungsamran or as its sometimes known bungsam lan,been there a few times mate,the french guy is jean francois helias,he charges way more than 50 quid nowadays,your better off fishing the place yourself hiring the gear from the site-shop,the while day will cost you about a tenner then,I went on my own and caught a 74 lb pla buk,theres a couple of english guys guide for that lake also,one of them took Robson Green fishing there for an Extreme Fishing program.I used to spend days at Jomtien fishing club while my mates were in Pattaya drinking,a great little hidey-hole,happy days eh?

    Buy,beg,borrow or steal a book called "A sporting chance" by a guy called Dan Mannix,a rivetting read,I have had my copy since childhood,it was always tucked away under my pillow and led to me trying to boomerang ducks with my bunk-bed arm off the local ponds,its a compendium of unusual hunting methods including hunting feathered quarry with a caracal or serval(cant remember which as the book is in storage). http://www.amazon.com/Sporting-Chance-Unusual-Methods-Hunting/dp/B00005WXSW

    Nope,they are in long-term storage,not going anywhere for a good while,no rush,softly softly catchee pristine monkey but you know if you keep repeating the £200 mantra your going to talk yourself subliminaly into purchasing it

    I was in central america during the 's Black,but I did know some nice ladies there also as I was a fresh kid at the time,lots of exciting trysts Oddly enough I have met some nice women abroad over the years,my current is from canada :victory:Something tells me LB is going to have the time of his life(and dont forget the fishing in Thailand).

    Thats what a single cormorant eats in a day mate,how many birds visit the ponds?Dependant upon pond-size cant you put netting over as a protective roof?
