I can empathise with that,f***ing hell I remember bare floorboards and bare walls my parents were hopeless with money,i mean f***ing hopeless, rent man comes tell him we aren't in,debtors come tell them we aren't in,i remember my mam telling us all to hide in the kitchen when the door was knocked, robbing peter to pay paul is a shit way to live and I have no attachment to material possessions,i can walk away from them as long as my kids are ok,never been in debt in my life, never had a credit card only debit cards, squalid poverty from childhood was never nice,it was like living in Dickensian ti

LOL, that's the problem. Me: "Oh hey Mam Dad Sis Bro, I've had a guts full of this place and f***ing off somewhere more appreciative of a person of my particular flavour!" Me mam: "Where!?" Me: "New Zealand, I feel I'm a kiwi at heart and just want a bit of freedom, this place is rapidly going to shit for a fella like me and I've got nothing holding me here really." Me mam: "Well that's great Son. But are you sure you want to leave the job you don't particularly enjoy to do the same job (if it exists) in a country you have never been anywhere near ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PLANET and on your ow

I spoke to two separate guys yesterday in Paris, both Parisians both said the EU as an idea has merit,in practice the way it's going it's not worth a wank and France would be better out, both conversations sparked off when they had asked where I came from and both had started on about brexit.

What's it like over there now mate? Some reports make it sound like a war zone? Large police presence, and some army, especially around the Eiffel Tower, arc de triomphe and other touristy places, large amount of Romanian gypsies sleeping on mattresses? There was a family outside the Norte dam cathedral, mum, dad, and two kids under the blankets this morning, still a fantastic city to kick around in the spring.

This is impressive, I'm sure you are well aware of this guy, but it's all new to me....;-) Incredible scenery, fantastic once in a lifetime hunt, just looks amazing,a real hard earned trophy.

imagine the student debts building up here that are never ever going to be repayed, far too many get into uni now just too help hide the true unemployment statistics, so many courses available that even if you go the very best degree you would never get the earning potential as they not half as valid as they used to be My mate took his son to look at some uni's the other week he said one had course in pirates ..arr! Quite a few of those university of totyown degree courses on offer, students waste their time doing them.

The place I have just been staying, you can see the windsock on the 650 meter grass strip, the couple gave up a Manchester semi for a truly idyllic lifestyle and a thriving business, lots of outbuildings you could do up for B&B gives,I am booking some lessons in the Pyrenees with a guy who has done similar, left the UK and now teaches flying because it's his passion, but all dreams cost cash,I met a guy the other day who teaches paramotor,fixed-wing,flex-wing AND gyrocopter, but only at weekends as he is a bus driver,he doesn't have the courage to jack the buses in and venture out on his own as

Second hand bows in a store in Ontario, lots of people trade them in for a newer model, and a really good archery store in Quebec, the lady behind the counter had taken moose, bear etc,and was an ardent archery hunter.

Even if I do, I'm years away mate. I have to be fluent first in either French or Flemish & then pass a hunting exam. It's not like the UK here, where practically anyone can get a shotgun licence & crack on......Here, you actually have to know a bit ;-) What does the Belgian permit consist of? Good luck with it, itll be a great achievement I got my bow hunting ticket here, but it was like a lecture and then a bash. I don't know specifically mate. To officially hunt anything here with a gun you need to pass the exam & that covers Bowhunting. I get the impression the exam is

Theres a mountain lion recently took a dog from the owners bedroom, california I think?Leopards in Africa and india regularly take dogs, they have even moved into towns and are seen on a regular basis in Africa and india, stock especially sheep would be preferable to deer in the UK I would think.

I rented a villa in spain, had a great pool, big BBQ area,a very nice boat, did it for 6 months and the novelty began to wane, your mate was right, our dreams aspirations etc change, what we think we want isn't always what we anticipated once we have it within our grasp, but a number of the people I have met here in france seem content with their achievements,i have a house abroad I bought almost 30 years ago, back then it was the dream, now its just somewhere to visit now and again, the dream has changed.

if your 30 or older I think you might have trouble emigrating dc, been looking myself on the visa sites and the comments boxes are full of muslims begging to go to Canada, fs middle east might be empty soon haha Big empty country Canada, lots of scope for people if you have skills they want and are adaptable,i know a number of brits who have set up shop over there, know one or two who have returned to blighty but the majority have stayed, its not halfway round the world like Australia, its a relatively short flight away for relatives who want to visit. is there an age limit for tradesmen

A guy in Canada told me porcupines like to gnaw cast antlers.

Sorry to hear about the illness Byron, your right life is about collecting memories, theres a Scottish guy here,he is in his 60's,trained to be a pilot instructor a few years ago, bought a house here, got a plane, keep a triumph motorbike at his mates in the states,he generally drifts around but has a great life, everyone has different dreams, they sometimes change over the years as Leegreen pointed out,i spoke to a guy earlier who has rented 3 acres of land here for 120 euros a year to grow his own food and try to be as self sufficient as possible, dreams don't have to be big.

Never been out actively looking, found a few when kicking around, its quite big stateside, theres an online shed (antler) hunting magazine.

I met a couple originally from Yorkshire this morning, they came over to the farm I am staying on to collect a poly-tunnel,i figured the guy was a fisherman by the way he was dressed, bivvy shoes and realtree type trousers, they sold up in Yorkshire and bought a water filled quarry in central france with a small house,my guess is he is going to turn it into a fishing lake? The people I am staying with here sold a 3-bed semi in Manchester and bought a 65 acre farm in france with lots of outbuildings to turn into a number of gites, they also have a 650 metre long runway in the back garden for their l
