Haven't seen newts nor salamanders this week but I have seen a number of garter snakes this week,a few snapper turtles,and helped a few turtles cross the road. -

I saw one just outside Lhasa (the place of the gods) the Tibetan capital years ago,I also went up to a sky burial sight a few years back in Bhutan a few days after a burial but there wasn't even a scrap of bone left,vultures had done a good job.

Same here,real outdoor culture,theres schools that rear trout for release as part of the fishing program,and places like nunavut I know a guy works at larga baffin whose son did a hunter education type youth program that hunted caribou with the teacher.
