I think he said he intended to write a trilogy but I didn’t read the sequel as it wasn’t on sale from John the Book in Chungking Hong Kong where I got shantaram.

Gregory David roberts goes a bit more in depth on the book in his YT channel. Back then if a book gripped my interest it wasn’t getting put down till I had devoured what was on the pages,I was a voracious reader.

I read the book in one sitting,unputdownable,hope the film is even half as good.

I have had a lot of big browns,fished quite a few times on some of the best southern chalk streams in the south-east of England,but as a kid a ferox was the stuff of dreams when I read about them caught deep trolling from an old wooden rowing boat.

I want to get a 40 next,the 30’s this year were powerful running downstream into the next pool,no stopping them,a 40 or 50 would be off the scale.

I remember when Ian closed the site down due to people arguing,the traffic was fast paced,a few mods were always on but he had to do it to bring the rowdy boys to heel lol.

Some biggies over 10Lb mate,but we were kids getting a £ a Lb even back then and we gutted them on the bank,we weighed the biggest Salmon which was almost 30 but I beat that this season legit on rod and line.

Embarrassing,remove Simon Ridley as not fit for purpose,given his position he should have been able to churn out statistics staccato fashion instead of stutter along like a newbie buffoon in public speaking.

Ah,the infamous mesh-marks,heard of them but never actually seen them myself.I one got just over 120 mixed salmon and sea trout over a weekend from a north-east river,I was still at school at the time,used to be great sitting in the dark beside the river listening to decent sized fish jump.

Just west of Ottawa mate,very nice to be honest,but not so when it gets real snow,then it’s sit tight and wait for spring (or head back to UK).
