  1. It’s worth it if you’re interested in walking amongst thousands of rats, plus how many people have you met who took the time and trouble to purposely visit a rat temple?Lol.
  2. Next time you go make an effort to visit the karni mata rat temple.

Yup,used to be dicey for us as kids, but I heard some of the estate now has posh houses built upon it?We were at school and my mates dad was doing up a garden, wanted to put a pond in,I heard some kids went into the garden centre on the estate one night, nicked a load of pond lining, ornaments, and to add insult to injury one of the miscreants netted all of the koi out of the garden centres pond, made the local paper.
  4. Went to a Christmas market, there was a couple of ladies doing very well indeed.
  5. I never understood why the place had three names banaras kashi and varanasi, the worlds largest outdoor crematorium I was told, been a couple of times, always interesting.
  6. Yes,that’s him,him and his wife are on the ball. This is a local shroom shop, but I will pop into the new one as they have the price list on the wall.
  7. I passed a shroom-shop earlier, next time I pass I will go in and take a pic of the price list.I actually know a guy who grows commercially in California,he is worth a few quid. Shiny-bud’s have opened a drive through local.
  8. I went to Varanasi years ago as I had seen footage of one meditating in the lotus position on the chest of a corpse he had dragged from the ganges before eating part of the corpse, when I looked around they don’t do it openly, but they do carry bones/skulls around. I saw Jains walking around naked sweeping the ground in front of them before each step so as not to step on insects and small organisms.
  9. I have met loads of oddities, met a Spanish guy who had thrown his passport away and lived on the streets of Delhi as a sadhu,a well to do Brit whose family kept him in India as his heroin addiction was cheaper to fund there, and those backpacker types who head off to find themselves in India “because it’s so spiritual man”,people are always interesting, some have a really good story, but walking everywhere barefoot isn’t my cup of tea.

I figured it was lambtons, old George Wilson wouldn’t have had that fox there.I remember getting 20 pheasant there in a couple of hours with my Wembley Vulcan one night as a kid,and doing my works experience in the lion park (after it closed, but they hadn’t got rid of all the animals). been feeding the birds in the snow, didn’t see one turkey then going home saw 6 feeding right on the roadside half a mile from home.
  11. You should do a little night hawking Arry, guy who used to be on here years ago used to go detecting at night, found a small hoard of Roman silver.
  12. Arry is still top MD expert, don’t forget that lol.Remember the guy a few years ago who found around 1000 staters while “Bird watching”?Turned out he was illegally detecting,I think he got a sentence in nick, lesson learnt finders keepers, but imagine a thousand of those, that’s a few Kg of gold.
  13. Staters were cast (struck).
  14. That is an iceni stater,I have had a couple in my hand when being shown them once.
  15. I thought he was a bit Hare Krishna found myself in spiritualism mate, only so much of that I can take, though I did enjoy talking to a Buddhist monk for ages once who was telling me about monks who died in meditation while seeking enlightenment and no one knew they had died thats proper Nam myoho renge kyo stuff.

Thanks, good luck on the geese,we always found it easy to get permission for ferreting up there,my cousin lives right at the top near Thurso, used to really enjoy going up. Prolonged deep snow muffles all sound,it’s like being under a thick blanket.
  20. Arry I remember mono coming out when I was at school,I had a small natural fibre net 15-20 yards long, still got fish but when a guy I knew who poached salmon showed me a mono and told me where he got it,and said he would show me how to hang one,I went to CoSalt in shields and got a net, paid for itself multiple times over the first time I ran it out.
