  1. The stag and the grouse arent a problem where you are TJ,neither is the salmon But with a fly is a different story
  2. Yeah,if you wouldnt mind that would be good, the only place I ever saw adders was stanhope in Weardale and even then it was only a couple,I actually like them better than grass snakes.Their markings are beautiful
  3. Got any pics of the adders simo?I am fascinated by snakes, only seen a few wild adders, mainly only grass snakes round here, lots of common lizards and slow worms.
  4. Roe,chinese and muntie are impressive,I am sure if we asked nicely you might even tell us the best place to watch chinese?I actually saw one in China but never here in the UK. You have rather lofty ambitions JOE I wonder what sort of trout you will be targetting? Aled, maybe your right, when I was a kid it was no great shakes to pick up bags of 30,40,50 assorted sea-trout and salmon, certainly as a 15 year old I could do that several times in a season, whatever methods I used I think your right though, salmon are on the decline, but its still the best fish we have in british waters, nothing qui
  5. Glassy Junction, your local indian pub, barmaids are indian, customers are indian, went in once for a coke and I was the only Gorah, drew quite a few stares http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gc4QPa32PLg

Glassy Junction in south road southall,EVERYONE wears a turban, was the first pub in the UK to accept indian rupees as payment for alcohol
  7. What would have been more impressive from a lurchermans point of view would have been a fallow, roe, and muntie in the same day,now THAT would be impressive
  8. I think more guys will have knocked over a roe, hare, and fox in a nights lamping than will have taken a salmon, wild brown, and a rainbow in a day
  9. From what I remember of the place you would have gotten change of a guinea-pig as well.Anything you wanted you could get there, just had to ask around
  10. John Voight and Jennifer Lopez are behind you
  11. Excellent result Aled I am going to attempt it fairly soon, salmon, brown, and either a sea or rainbow. In the past many times I have taken sea-trout and salmon in the same day,or browns and rainbows I deffinately want a salmon in the trio, the water I have been invited on is £100+ a day I dont intend to fish for the full 24 hours so will leave a pro-rata payment Spinning-rods on a fly-only Irish Tsk,tsk
  12. Thats a BIG grass-snake,3 foot?Theres loads of them around here but never seen one that size
  13. I was wondering last night if anyone had ever done a McNab on game fish?By definition a McNab is historically poached I guess, but lets not bother ourselves with the pedantics here, anyone ever had a game-fish McNab by fair means or foul?Brown, rainbow, and sea?Or Maybe salmon, sea, and brown?I am just curious, but for arguments sake lets not include grayling in the equation, for no other reason except that I dont fish for them,so,anyone taken a McNab?
  14. Andy Capp country Flat-caps are de-riguer,traditional for old boys up there, the pub should be boycotted
  15. Blackwater I guess it'll get plenty of use then.
  16. To be honest Steve we were going to knock it on the head(not the fish)pretty soon as we have our collective eyes on something and somewhere else, but Lees speech about stocking densities, and environmentally approved guidelines made me realise that fish, yes FISH have rights too! Most guys on here probably see them as something they have with chips,or view them as little gold things that swim around in a tank in the corner of the living room and keep the kids amused, but fish have got feelings too mate, imagine sharing your house with 50 other blokes(your not polish are you?).So what I am actually d
  17. Haswell plough?Used to go there when I was a kid,once saw a guy swap a kestrel for 5 ferrets,great place,loads of off-the-wall characters,its a livestock auction mate,well worth a visit,always seems to draw larger-than-life characters hanging around outside
  18. Very good pics mate, what do you guesstimate the length was?
  19. Its just a little light-hearted ribaldry and joshing between Lee and myself Malt, though I am nonplussed as to Lees steadfast avoidance at providing me with the location of his fishery As for the fish, its my intention on several of these lakes to bring the population density down to the environment agency recommended guidelines, trust me,I wont rest till its done
  20. I used to live withing a few hundred yards of what was then one of the best sea-trout rivers in England,I actually phoned a friend(nope, wasnt a contestant on a Chris Tarrant show)yesterday who still lives in the same village, and he laughed and told me the fish were starting to run
  21. Hand-graded trout?Stitched at the seams and labelled along the side F**king hell, you have sold me on them, when do I get an invite?Might even pay more than a quid As for trout being easy to catch on Bait Lee,I am up for a match anytime you are Good luck with the wrecking, havent done it for years but I used to enjoy going out of Whitby and tynemouth Get some decent pics
  22. I think I know the midification your talking about mate How much do 50LB live carp fetch
  23. My wifes an Icthyologist Lee,she never turns down a fish, part seal part otter I guess, with a little beaver somewhere Stocking densities in some waters are f***ing ridiculous mate, the lake we fished on friday stocks with 50,000 fish a year and the amount of abnormalities we have noticed in fish on some waters is scary,JOE caught a beauty of a fish on friday, nice solid 5'lber except it only had half a tail? What do I do at work mate?As little as f***ing possible my work colleagues will tell you
  24. That explains it then, the wife always says I am infantile in my rationale Ok then, forget sweetcorn-only,substitute that for bait-only,but fluff-chuckers often have a holier-than-thou attitude, lots of them in this area fish at stocked fisheries because they have no basic field or bushcraft, wading out in your Simms G4's wearing your William-J vest and lashing the waters with your Orvis Zero isnt a substitute for water-craft mate, some fisheries I have visited look like Roker pier after a mackerel-fest discarded line and rubbish, and I havent ONCE fished and not caught fish trailing line or carry
