To be honest Steve we were going to knock it on the head(not the fish)pretty soon as we have our collective eyes on something and somewhere else, but Lees speech about stocking densities, and environmentally approved guidelines made me realise that fish, yes FISH have rights too! Most guys on here probably see them as something they have with chips,or view them as little gold things that swim around in a tank in the corner of the living room and keep the kids amused, but fish have got feelings too mate, imagine sharing your house with 50 other blokes(your not polish are you?).So what I am actually d

Haswell plough?Used to go there when I was a kid,once saw a guy swap a kestrel for 5 ferrets,great place,loads of off-the-wall characters,its a livestock auction mate,well worth a visit,always seems to draw larger-than-life characters hanging around outside

Very good pics mate, what do you guesstimate the length was?
-
Its just a little light-hearted ribaldry and joshing between Lee and myself Malt, though I am nonplussed as to Lees steadfast avoidance at providing me with the location of his fishery As for the fish, its my intention on several of these lakes to bring the population density down to the environment agency recommended guidelines, trust me,I wont rest till its done

I used to live withing a few hundred yards of what was then one of the best sea-trout rivers in England,I actually phoned a friend(nope, wasnt a contestant on a Chris Tarrant show)yesterday who still lives in the same village, and he laughed and told me the fish were starting to run

My wifes an Icthyologist Lee,she never turns down a fish, part seal part otter I guess, with a little beaver somewhere Stocking densities in some waters are f***ing ridiculous mate, the lake we fished on friday stocks with 50,000 fish a year and the amount of abnormalities we have noticed in fish on some waters is scary,JOE caught a beauty of a fish on friday, nice solid 5'lber except it only had half a tail? What do I do at work mate?As little as f***ing possible my work colleagues will tell you

That explains it then, the wife always says I am infantile in my rationale Ok then, forget sweetcorn-only,substitute that for bait-only,but fluff-chuckers often have a holier-than-thou attitude, lots of them in this area fish at stocked fisheries because they have no basic field or bushcraft, wading out in your Simms G4's wearing your William-J vest and lashing the waters with your Orvis Zero isnt a substitute for water-craft mate, some fisheries I have visited look like Roker pier after a mackerel-fest discarded line and rubbish, and I havent ONCE fished and not caught fish trailing line or carry

She brought me the catalogue back mate,paper-affair,they must have an online website though

Ethics?next to Kent?No mate,we dont fish in ethics Like I said LG,normally a bona-fide dry-fly fluff chucker myself, but fridays little jaunt with the sweetcorn got me thinking, why is it that there are fly-only fisheries?Whats so special about them mate? Why cant we have sweetcorn only fisheries? And as for mags like "Fly-fishing" why cant we have mags like "Sweetcorn and niblet"?Thinking of it sweetcorns a lot more versatile than flies,I remember once fishing with joe and snagging my last Ummmm,Mayfly-nymph,lost it on some bushes so my day looked to be over, anyway, popped into the bushes for a N

He does look like Mohammad Sidique Khan's twin brother

Ok,so heres the score,I have had a few detractors lately, namely LG who at one time I figured to be an online troll, but now I am wondering whether "he" is actually a "she" named Charlene,an ex-girlfriend with a penchant for bukkake, but as I am a tea-spoon a day man,I was never able to fully satisfy her in the way she wanted and she drifted away to end up managing an knitwear shop in preston All criticism levelled at me have concerned "Unsporting" fishing methods,so its time for the fightback to commence,I am actually considering leading a camapign against that scourge of the trouting world,t

What would the postage be on a couple of elephants
-
Havent ferreted for years,I dont eat rabbits, different strokes for different blokes innit Can I just take exception to one of LG's earlier comments however? If I could only get 43 fish in a NIGHT i would give it up as a bad job and start buying them at £9.00 a kilo which is the price my wife saw them selling for in Harrods foodcourt a few weeks ago

How very dare you  HG,I once cast a fly for a type of snow trout in the indian Himalayas, caught nowt all morning till I adopted the locals methods and started ripping them out of the pools with a bloody big treble But that was for an evening meal, necessity is the mother of invention I guess being there, surrounded with beauty and enjoying your day?I would rather be there, surrounded by fish, and enjoy my night No offence HG

Civility suits you LG,much better than sniper shots on what was an otherwise interesting thread If you would love to have me there.............Address please?Fly-rods?Last time I used one I hooked a 7 1/2 LB bluebottle, scared the life out of me,gave me deep-rooted entomophobia for years

Theres no POSSIBLE way we could get this particular landowners personal number

My wife never lets me out with more than a quid jangling in my pockets KD,as you well know, the streets of London arent paved with gold for all of us are they mate But the wifes promised to pay for a full hours fishing for my birthday besides,we nornally stop fishing the first week in october, then we turn our attention to our extensive stalking permission,we have ground heaving with fallow, roe, and munties, and are currently in negotiation with a landowner who has reds

It wasnt mean to be funny mate, deadly serious,I actually DID phone The guy start getting a bit ratty towards the end though, but once he said YES there was no turning back The odd thing about last night was loads of the fish were jumping clean out of the water like salmon, and as SOON as we cast out we had them,depth?Two-three feet?We only fished for 20 minutes, couldnt carry anymore but it was a pound well spent mate

Mack-the-knife.....God bless him,I bethe was chuffed to bits he didnt have to use a knife last night,he has lost more pinkies than the combined Roppongi yakuza He is a danger to himself you know! Last night was funny, and remember New Labours theme tune.....Things can only get better (Hopefully better for us than its doing for Messrs(messers) Brown and Co at the moment
