Hi Les, I've just re-read the OP. If the 1st dropped without problems and stayed down, then the Lightning is obviously zero'd and its running with enough power to do the job. Then you say your shot was taken with the BSA Ultra and Bugs does a spin, so obviously a hit. He then hops off. I reckon that was over penetration. What pellets are you both using? Oh and do you drive a 4x4 with a green antenna on the drivers side by any chance? Phantom

Excellent Idea bud, Perhaps as a seperate entity, and get SS to sticky it Tony

I'd have to disagree with the above 1st take the silencer off and its a hell of a crack! 2nd it takes me twice the time to reload my PCP! and getting the buggers in the right way round Must get a 10 shot conversion kit and solve both problems in one Phantom im only typing from my experience i wouldnt take the silencer off , the gun i shot was my mates and was like a .22 rf for reloading with a 5 shot mag , my springer was a nightmare and it might of been from my lack of skill but i was shit with it Dont look like just having a laugh at myself for having ruddy fat

To be perfectly honest, it was one of those "I want one" things. Then when I happened into some brass and the S200 came up for £200 inc bag scope, pump and pellets it became one of those "I WILL have one". I have only taken it out twice so far and have had good results with it especially when lying in wait. But next time I go out, Im taking the springer Phantom

Well done guy's Phantom

Ah right that makes it 30 yards range then Yeah thats about my comfort zone with my springer on live quarry; although I can shoot further with it at metal knockdowns. I have a custom silencer on it now that I am itchin to try out properly. I know the noise from the action will still make a sound, but I have followed some tips from guy's on here and its surprising how much the noise has been reduced. As for accuracy, a springer is just as accurate as a pcp if you can shoot it well enough Phantom

Your not using Bisley Magnum are you Les? Was out with a mate the other week. I know he's hitting them and they are still running! He wont use the BizMags anymore. 1st bunny took one straight through the head and it began running. Took another to decimate the brain and it stopped. Failing that, I'll come out with you and show you how its done Phantom

Sorry to but in Bedrock buddy, but first thing's first yeah? Willis, what are your groups like? are they tight or all over the shop? If you are like a lot of newbies you probably havent even thought about this yet? My 1st mistake when I got my 1st rifle was to try and shoot the bull, it went one way so I altered the scope, fired the next shot, it went somewhere else, readjusted and so on and so forth. Then I was shown how to do it properly! took me less than 30 shots to do it correctly so I was spot on from then on:) Phantom

Were the rimmy boys out lamping? As for bunnies at 60 yards; Highly unlikely! FAC air rifles will probably be up to the job, but sub 12 I dont think it would be possible. Phantom

I personally think a lot is due to the time of year, well more dependant on the number of young uns about. The younger ones come out much quicker than the mature and weary ones. I have been using both spring and PCP. I find that once a shot has been fired, most bunnies will run for cover! They tend to stay hidden for half an hour or more sometimes. I laid up in ambush a few weeks ago for nearly 2 hours. Got 3 bunnies with the PCP. Once a pellet connects with a skull and a bunny does its accrobatics the noise of the impact and the movement tends to scare all others off! The young ones I

Looks like that could be effective; whats the throw like now its finished? Phantom -

I think he is sobbing over all that permission you have. You see phantoms permission is close to a mile long but only 2 feet wide and then there is a lamp post every 30 yards. ATB Michael Your already outshooting me on the bunnies and the Squizzers The only permission I have is Verbal and I wont shoot it until I get it in writing, problem is catching the guy at the paddock to get him to sign the slip. The only place I can shoot bunnies is my mates permission and I can only get there when he can pick me up as its about 25-30miles from me and I have no transport. Publ

The Pro's and Con's Springer, as Aaron says, self contained. The power is provided by you compressing the spring. Get some really good springers and scopes for what your allowing. PCP, are totally recoilless and are usually silenced. But then you have to fork out for the charging gear such as a scuba tank or a stirrup pump. The advantage of a stirrup pump is you get a hell of a workout while you pump :download: although most people that I know can't handle it There are some really fantastic deals to be had on the second hand market. I got an AA-S200 PCP, Gun bag, 3-9x56mm sco

I would like a ruddy JOB at the moment, holidays I can live without, well I could with my last job anyways! Used to work from 05:30 up till 23:00 on many a day, got a lay in on saturday til 08:00 and finished at 13:00 Got the full day off on Sunday most weeks. Been on sick now for 13 sodding months now. Funilly enough, years ago I was asked to become an IT tutor at Goole College. turned em down. Bad move? perhaps. Just looking at setting an online shop up now Phantom

Hi and Welcome to the good ship THL Sorry can't help with where, but the rifle depends on you budget. I'm all for saying my AA S200 is great intermediate Rifle, but I also reckon my SMK SX mod19 is great as a hunter for those who are a competant springer marksman However, if you have lots of dosh something more upmarket may be a place to start. So what are you after, Springer, Rammer, or PCP? Are you a decent shot? and whats your budget? Phantom

Lets put this back to bed and keep it there huh? Aaron has apologised He recoginises, that Buster was trying to help (or he wouldnt have apologised would he?). Buster tried to make light of the situation, but as I said earlier, lack of 'descriptives' such as an arm around Aarons shoulder and a good knuckle rub on his forhead, was open to interpretation, and sadly it was interpreted incorrectly However it all appears to be sorted, Buster has offered to take Aaron out for a day (I would kill bunnies for that offer ) and I am sure, that should they ever come face to face the two of
