Cool, I dont have the luxury of NV, so when I was poppin the rodents (mice) in my shed, I used a candle lantern then a rear light from a bike set. Had 1 to my .177 ASI Siper Springer and 1 to my .22 Mod19 and a further 2 to my traps. Not had a single rodent since or depending on whether you like shooting em! Phantom

It is yeah, but sadly of late there has been a spate of violance and vandalism A lad got a broken bottle in his face and neck a few weeks ago just around the corner from me, another lad (who is known to me) got his ear taken off with a machette after trying to break into someone's house (I personally would have gone for his throat rather than his ear if he'd have tried doing the same at my house). And a week or two back someone got their head pushed through a neighbours green house a lot of fences were pulled down and destroyed by yobs out of their heads on drink and drugs. Brough

Right techy question for ya'll
Phantom replied to Phantom's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
No worries for delay. I wasn't expecting instant reply as most people on here (bar me and a few others) have a life outside THL I'll have a go at pulling the thing out a bit later. Many thanks for the info guy's its been invaluable and most helpful indeed. Phantom -
Yes bud, Its an intestinal and liver infestation. No worries about the pelt. Do you use the pelts? How do you preserve them? I have one in the freezer its in really good condition and am looking at preserving it for future use Phantom.

Thats good to know Hopefully you nipped it in the bud before they had chance to establish a regular run well done. Phantom
-
Cheers Peeps, we had come to the same conclusion early on in the thread . Phantom

Not sure I understand the question bud? Unless you mean a rabbit LIKE that? (assuming you made a typo) Would you get the liver disease? Well I did a lot of research on that particular nasty, the experts say its 'Species Specific' but there has been the same found in young children. To put it right its simply a course of Anti-biotics. So I ended up chucking it in the bin not wanting to risk it although I reckon catching CJD has a higher chance eating a burger from a mad cow. Bit like Myxie, I suppose. They say Humans cannot catch it, so the question is would you personally want to

Any more of the nasties shown up yet Dave? Phantom

Sleep? what you trying to waste time like that for? aint you got no bunnies to batter? Mind you there comes a time when your body just needs the odd kip I suppose, I was in bed by 22:15 last night, asleep by 22:30 (which makes a change!) and I awoke at 11:30 today didn't hear my alarm go off at 07:00. The thing is though, I now feel absolutely knackered and have poured a good litre of freshly made strong (none of this instant stuff) coffee down me gullet. Bunnies wont have to worry about my aim today! Phantom

I wasn't aware of any publicity good or bad about him, but having said that I don't use many other forums now (apart from a couple of catty forums, Airgun-Hunter and the UBC dedicated forum, which I run). Its good to know that there is still excellent service delivered from some commercial people Its getting rare these days Its also good to know that a (if you will excuse the terminology) Relic such as a Relum Tornado is been restored and looked after. My neighbours kid has one in .22, its battered to hell and back but he wont flog it to me to restore and use Oh and Welcome to

Right techy question for ya'll
Phantom replied to Phantom's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Many thanks Sean, It makes perfect sense I had a feeling that it was something along those lines. Just gotta wait for Foxon to come back on and answer the bit about the blue ring thing in the base:) Gow do I get into the cylinder stem of the pump? I tried to remove the bottom of the stem (Brass assembly) but it just seemed to turn and turn and turn so I am assuming that it was not designed to be removed? Also inside the main stem is it the same as a normal type pump ie a cup washer type like a bike pump or the spring piston in a rifle? Thanks again Sean Phantom -
Reckon EVERYONE is out this evening (Down the pub no doubt, lucky buggers! ) Cuz its so QUIET in here again! Phantom

Right techy question for ya'll
Phantom replied to Phantom's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Foxon, thanks for the info, really appreciate it I have again stripped the main assembly. The valve seems to be seated properly now. I've also taken all the bits off the main block and cleaned everything as much as I can. When I removed the stem from the block, the ventilated cap had become unscrewed and detatched it was held within the main block by what appears to be some form of plastic/foam thats in the bottom of the block well. Am I correct in assuming this is some sort of particle filter? If not whats it for, and can it be removed (I re-assembled then disassembled it again -

It certainly has gummed up , your spot on there Foxon I've cleaned out the little section that holds the little spring, valve and o'ring. I can't get right inside though I've gently scraped as much crap out as I can using some pipecleaners and rags but think there is still a lot in there. I've also washed the little 'bullet' witht he o-ring on and was suprised to find that it too is brass and now shines bright! The little spring that pushes the 'bullet' closed I thought was going to disintegrate until I cleaned it and its in good condition. Although I cleaned it as much as possible, -

I'm going to strip the pump and see if I can spot anything obvious this afternoon. I'm not sure if there is anything to go wrong with the QF adaptor is there? I'll have a good look at it though! From what Richard said, his pump had the same or very similar problem. I have some various size O-rings. When I got the pump given, my mate told me he thought it needed a service. He hadn't used it in a number of years. So if it costs me anything to have it repaired, its still bound to be a darn sight cheaper than buying one from new or even second hand I'll let you all know how I get on. -
Thats right Just like a car's a she or a motorcycle's a she; She's an air rifle she is And, I dont care if you asked or not, I just thought I'd give you a bit of Extraneous information, you know like the bouncer did with Wayne and Garth in the flick :11: Phantom

Cheers Richard, So I will have to disasemble the pump? Um... Something new to do, I dont like new things I'll have a go tomorrow. Phantom -
Have you seen the the picture you`ve attached in this thread Yes bud, I took the DPM silencer cover off for the portrait of my baby and her latest victim Oh and that was the first time out with that silencer she usually wears black, but this custom one is far superior to the AA one that came with the gun.

I got around to trying my Hills Stirrup Pump this evening It has a quick release fill adaptor on it for my S200 Attached pump hose to gun, guage reads ZERO pressure. Now I know I have only fired no more than 15 shots since my last fill to 185 bar from the dive tank on Monday and I loosed off a couple of dry shots to make sure there was still air in the gun, yep its there ok Anyhows I pumps and pumps and pumps and the guage moved a gnats cock hair but when I stopped pumping the pump handle rose about 5 inches. I opened the pressure release valve and the handle went back down.

Im up for a winter one I've climbed and camped in snow 4 feet deep and minus 19 centigrade temps before Suffered hypothermia and still made it to the pub (Very long story!) I've already planted the seed for another one on "Airgun Hunter" I'll even organise it if someone can clear it with a land owner (I dont have permission other than a small horse paddock and I am STILL awaiting written confirmation for that!).
